Dieter Gerhardt

Dieter Gerhardt was a South Arfican who spied for the Soviet Union. So, what does that make him? A 'South African spy' or a 'Soviet spy'? I claim it's the latter. Indeed, there is a whole category of Soviet spies in wikipedia [[1]]. Am I missing something? Bazuz (talk) 12:24, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Depends if you're talking about nationality or allegiance, I guess. He was (and still is) a South African citizen who spied for the Soviet Union. Is there any precendent for this? Socrates2008 (Talk) 12:27, 10 August 2012 (UTC)

Sources for the 'demise etc.' section

This section was written by me on the basis of a series of article written by Shlykov in Russian, which I'd read a few years ago. It's a rough draft and I'd be glad if someone could add detailed references. Actually, the Telegraph article already linked to here (here is the direct link: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/obituaries/politics-obituaries/8913985/Vitaly-Shlykov.html) has some information along these lines.
