Considerably pummeled

- That was actually the word used in the New York Times cite, but I liked it, not the least because the language has a sort of dapper Victorian air as compared to the equally descriptive, but more crudish, "beat the crap out of." Andrew Jameson (talk) 15:19, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
