Name[edit]

Willie Macfadyen was my grandfather's brother. As far as I know, all of our extended family, including Willie's children, spell the name with a lower case f. Records of Willie's adult life (eg statutory registers of marriage, death) show his name spelled Macfadyen. I believe that the 'F' spelling is an error that has crept in somewhere, and I've corrected it in the text of the article. If anyone knows how to also correct the page title, that would be great. (or if you really have family evidence that our name has diverged, I"ll stand corrected!) Kelty101 (talk) 06:43, 3 April 2009 (UTC) (L. Macfadyen)[reply]

Regardless of the original correct spelling, MacFadyen is usually used in sources, so should be reflected by Wikipedia. Jellyman (talk) 23:28, 11 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]
