Marienkirche[edit]

The article says Wismar's Marienkirche "was deliberately destroyed in 1960 under the East German Communist government."

It's difficult to imagine a church being accidentally destroyed by a government, though, isn't it?

Market place[edit]

Both Wismar and Freuenstadt pages say that their market place is largest in Germany. Which one is really largest? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.195.247.200 (talk) 20:46, 28 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

in the article is said that wismar was heavily destroyed in 2.WW. thats not right the historic city of wismar was only 15% destroyed and only st. mary and st. george were heavily destroyed. greetings from wismar

Alter Schwede[edit]

Quite odd that the interesting photo of the Gothic Alter Schwede house isn't labeled as such. And why is it called the "old Swede" house? Sca (talk) 16:35, 14 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wismar was occupied by Sweden for ages, as was this building. Since 1878 it houses a restaurant, I guess it was back then when the name popped up first. Why don't you label it yourself? Frankly I don't know how to add a label to this specific infobox. -- Horst-schlaemma (talk) 10:37, 15 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]
