From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_capitals_in_the_United_States

Of the 50 U.S. state capitals, 27 have names that are clearly ambiguous. Of the remaining 23, 7 are already at the plain name, while the plain name for the remaining 16 all redirect to the respective state capital article at its title unnecessarily disambiguated by state. This proposal is about moving those 16→ articles from their disambiguated names to their plain names. Again, in each of these Z cases, the plain name already redirects to the article, so primary topic is already established for the state capital article. Support for this proposal implies a change to the U.S. city naming guideline to specify that U.S. city capitals that are the primary topic for their city names are at the plain name.
