Christian Fritz (born November 9, 1972 in Munich, Germany) is a Bali based social entrepreneur and sustainable business incubator envisioning an Indonesian sustainable development fund to facilitate renewable energy, sustainable consumption and production, sustainable agriculture and sustainable aquaculture, ecotourism, environmental friendly product design and environmental services enterprises in Indonesia.


Biography[edit]

Christian is a certified financial accountant and tax consultant with 15 years experience in financial controlling under EU and Asian (Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia) regulations.

He has nine years of private sector work experience in Indonesia, his first investment in Bali in 2000 was in a community fitness center together with Ade Rai, Indonesia's famous athlete and natural six time Mr Asia bodybuilding champion and founded one of Indonesia’s first social enterprise in 2004, the Bali International Consulting Group with it’s main focus towards sustainable development and is founder of the Bali Export Development Organization , a non-profit organization established to build awareness and capacity among local producers on international regulations and standards in partnership with CBI - Center for the Promotion of Imports to enhance their export potential.

As Indonesia’s first organizational stakeholder of the Global Reporting Initiative he strives to create more awareness on sustainability and corporate social responsibility in Indonesia.

As a founding board member in 2003 of the Kuta Small Business Association he received the Community Service Award in 2004 for his work towards establishing the Kuta Karnival as a relief effort in response to the 2002 tragedy.

His current interests are in reforestation and climate change issues, and is representing the PATT Foundation in Indonesia for tree planting projects to offset the carbon footprint of individuals, events and companies and also partnered with CV. Akar Wangi Jaya providing environmental services in sustainable land management, soil erosion and bio-engineering.

For Bali’s economic development under consideration of sustainability and responsibility, BEDO also joined in the effort of developing the Creative Industries as a key founder of Bali Creative Community and they jointly run a program to assist disabled people in finding jobs in Bali’s industry in partnership with VSO - Voluntary Service Overseas.

Beside his responsibilities as a commissioner and financial controller for Tropical Homes, he is currently working with other committed parties on the development of an Ecotourism Resort chain, a sustainable aquaculture farming project, Bali’s first green building material and eco friendly home supply store distributing FSC - Forest Stewardship Council certified timber and D2W, a plastic additive that makes plastic packaging degradable, a Jatropha biofuel plantation in Sumba, a web portal for green awareness in Indonesia for the facilitation of know how and technology transfer as well as matching of projects and investment , an environmental and energy management and service unit (EEMS), and an ethical sourcing unit for environmental friendly and fair trade products.

His 2012 vision is the realization of a Sustainable Ecologic Development Fund for Indonesia (ISDF) to facilitate projects and capitalize companies focused on renewable energy, sustainable consumption and production, sustainable tourism and related services.
