Interesting Facts:

[edit]

Ropa-to is Gloucestershire/Yorkshire/Celtic/Lancashire

Ropa-to got a red scar on his left eye which changes with his feelings.

Ropa-to was born two months early.

Ropa-to got the looks of a Freeman, tall, slim and broad shoulders.

Ropa-to usually looks like a spitting image of his uncle, Mike Freeman, who is High Steward of the East Riddlesden Hall.

The Freemans were once gentlemen farmers, the owners of farms owned by farmers, it was a very wealthy job.

Ropa-to is a descendant of the Howarth family, who got married to the Murgatroyd family, the owners of East Riddlesden Hall. And Harwarth, the creator of Kirkdale Sundial, the sundial on St Gregory's Minster, Kirkdale, North Yorkshire, England, it was created around the Saxon Times. Hawarth is also a Thegn.

1065 August - Hawarth, Orme and the other Thegns (Anglo-Saxon equivalent to a Norman Knight) of Yorkshire and Northumberland marched on York, due to Tostig Godwinson's harsh taxes and treatments of the people. During the march they came upon Tostig Godwinson's Danish Housecarls and slaughtered 200 of them near the Humber, they continued to York and seized all Tostig Godwinson's weapons, gold, silver and other monies. Hawarth, Orme and the thegns then declared Tostig Godwinson a 'Wolf's Head' (Caput gerat lupinum (Latin for "Let his be a wolf's head") - in Old English law an individual who was declared an outlaw and may be killed on sight as if the person was a wolf or wild animal), and called on Morkere to be their Earl, they then marched south for Northampton and ravaged Tostig Godwinson's estate there.

Tostig Godwinson was exiled and went to live in Flanders, and was taken in by his father-in-law Baldwin VI, Count of Flanders, where Tostig Godwinson crossed paths with Hereward the Wake also in exile.

1066 September - Tostig Godwinson returned with the Norwegians and 300 vessels, they sailed up the Humber and Ouse for York, before Harold could reach them, Earls Edwin and Morcar along with Hawarth, Orme, the other Thegns and the men of York on September 24th, took Tostig Godwinson and the Norwegians to battle at Fulford, but lost the day and had to sue for peace.

King Harold had to abandon his vigil for William of Normandy on the south coast when provision ran out. He then had to dash north as his brother Tostig Godwinson, with the aid of Harald III of Norway, King of Norway, attempted to take England from the north, concluding them back into the river, where huge numbers were drowned. He then charged the remaining enemy over the bridge, slaying Tostig Godwinson and Harald III of Norway, therefore winning the day. Unfortunately with Harold being in the north, William took advantage, and on September 29th, landed on the south coast at Pevensby, meaning Harold had to re-group taking everybody available, such as Hawarth, Orme, and any other Thegns and dashed back south.

Ropa-to is also a descendant of Captain John Freeman, one of King Charles I of England's bodyguard.
