Ivan Mihailov

[edit]

Jingiby, may I ask why you reverted my latest changes to Ivan Mihailov's page without providing an explanation? All I did is add a source and make much-needed stylistic improvements. Footballer99 (talk) 14:04, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Well, technically you did remove some things like the translations of his short name and the characterization of IMRO's attacks as "terrorist". You also changed some quotes of sources, like those by Andrew Rossos and Paul Reef. I restored the useful changes. StephenMacky1 (talk) 14:18, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I may have gotten something wrong in my last edit to the article. Sorry. Jingiby (talk) 16:04, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I had no intention of changing the meaning of the content, just stylistic changes that made it easier to read since the article was obviously written by a non-native English speaker. Even removing "terrorist" didn't change it because it was repetitive.
I haven't had a single edit reversed due to malicious activity or vandalism in my 15 years on Wikipedia, including this one, so what do we do now?

Footballer99 (talk) 19:25, 31 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I do not mind removing "terrorist". You can restore other changes you deem fit. However, when it comes to the lead, you should probably stick with 2-3 paragraphs for this article as per MOS:LEADLENGTH. The article has 2,761 words. A revert is not always due to vandalism or malicious activity, nor is it personal. It could be also due to edits which need improvement and discussion. Jingiby, Stephen, you guys are killing my Wiki mojo! ;)
From now on, I will be worried to move a comma.
Seriously though, from now on I will make stylistic changes section by section, so as to avoid having an edit that I spent an hour on be reverted because of a simple mistake somewhere.

You are welcome. Jingiby (talk) 10:19, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Very funny. I didn't know you had it in you.
You must be moonlighting as a comedian when not reverting people's edits on Wikipedia.
Footballer99 (talk) 19:04, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
All right. I've restored your version. Happy?
I am not interested in being in a content dispute anyway. StephenMacky1 (talk) 19:29, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Me neither, Stephen, so relax. Injecting a little humor here and there never hurt anyone.

I realize full well that people like you and Jingiby have an important role on Wikipedia. There are some malicious actors out there that need to be kept in check.

I don't know where you are from, but the Macedonian question is a very sensitive subject and articles relating to it need to be monitored constantly. There are people who want to rewrite history.

I am learning too and adjusting the manner in which I edit accordingly.

Hi, I see you've contributed a lot to Folk Songs of the Macedonian Bulgarians, would you be interested in a taskforce on oral tradition? Kowal2701 (talk) 18:37, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Kowal2701. Thank you for your invitation, but the folklore is not my favorite aspect. Jingiby (talk) 09:55, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
No worries Kowal2701 (talk) 12:40, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Origins of the Albanians

[edit]

Hi, could you explain why that was an unreliable source? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arberiunumk (talkcontribs) 15:14, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Arberiunumk, read WP:RSHISTORY. Jingiby (talk) 18:49, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

The thing is that i cited a source for something but there's no source cited to say the first mention of Albanians is in the 11th century, i have many modern source claiming that just that i didnt cite them — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arberiunumk (talkcontribs) 19:33, 6 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Then, cite them.Jingiby (talk) 04:20, 7 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
