Unsourced material[edit]

You have added unverified material to the Stan VanderWerf article, in violation of Wikipedia's Biographies of Living Persons policy. Also, the fact that you are aware of this information makes me ask: do you know VanderWerf personally? If so, you need to disclose your conflict of interest. I added citations to the material in question. From now on I will cite at the same time I add information to avoid this concern in the future. I do not know Stan VanderWerf. I took an interest in him because he's representing my district in Colorado Springs and saw his page needs some work.Kodiis (talk) 04:03, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

None of the citations you added actually verify that VanderWerf won any medals. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 10:25, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

What kind of documents are typically used to verify this information? I have part of his DD Form 214 dated 25 Apr 2011 but I'm hesitant to use it because it is cropped to not include sensitive information. Although the information on it is impossible to be any other human being, it doesn't include his name so I didn't include it. Is there any other option than FOIA to get the medals records from an authoritative source? Because I don't think this scan will cut it.

How, not knowing VanderWerf personally, do you come to be in possession of his DD Form 214? Awards of military medals are generally listed in public sources (military gazettes, etc.). WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 19:53, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I emailed him in request for any document that listed his military records and he provided me with this part of his DD Form 214. This document is good enough for me, but in retrospect I don't think that even if he sent me the full document--with his social security number and other personal information that it would have sufficed for wikipedia because the record went through both of our hands rather than straight from the horse's mouth. --Kodiis (talk) 20:13, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Quite frankly your edits seem to be spamming the article plus you’re a SPA. --Devokewater @ 22:21, 23 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Quite frankly your edits seem to be spammy. It's funny coming from a person who edited the article 30 something times today. Kodiis (talk) 01:10, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've tried to tidy up the article to prevent it from being deleted, by removing PR + unsourced edits, you've made this task harder for example adding the unsourced medals showing icons that are too large etc, etc. All in vain though, it appears that the article will be deleted.
