Hi Katie, you may want to suppress some of the edits at the article as well.--Bbb23 (talk) 23:43, 22 March 2024 (UTC) Women in Red April 2024[edit]

Redaction at Liverpool City Region[edit]Hello. Regarding your redaction at this article's talk page, I assume it was someone noting the identify of a particular contributor. I am not sure anyone was actually revealing anything that is not already public on Wikipedia, as the user in question edited Wikipedia under their real name until last year and that account still exists (they "retired", apparently in a huff after being blocked, and then started editing under another account, returning to exactly the same article set). I'd actually be interested to know what to do in cases like this; I commented at the ANI thread but wasn't sure whether I could link to the account in question (despite it being extremely obvious that it is the same person). Administrators' newsletter – August 2024
[edit]News and updates for administrators from the past month (July 2024).
- Global blocks may now target accounts as well as IP's. Administrators may locally unblock when appropriate.
- Users wishing to permanently leave may now request "vanishing" via Special:GlobalVanishRequest. Processed requests will result in the user being renamed, their recovery email being removed, and their account being globally locked.
- The Arbitration Committee appointed the following administrators to the conflict of interest volunteer response team: Bilby, Extraordinary Writ
A teeny tiny correction
[edit]Hi Katie! Regarding your note here that "he's not allowed to remove the block notice while the block is in effect", that's incorrect. Per WP:BLANKING, editors can remove block messages while the block is in place, they just can't remove declined appeals while the sanctions are in effect. Anyway, I haven't seen you around much lately, it's nice to see your name pop up!-- Ponyobons mots 15:32, 11 August 2024 (UTC)
