Edits to webpage

[edit]

Hi -- I'm made a lot of changes to correct what was written, including adding many new citations of references. So I'm not sure what specific edit you are referring to that is not sourced? Can you please restore it and just flag the part that you felt was not documented well enough? Thanks Navanew (talk) 12:24, 2 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

My edit to Vilem Heckel

[edit]

I am new to editing, and got your message about verifiability. It does not seem to be discussed in any published sources, but I was able to find on-line examples of copies for sale. How do I show that as a source?

Text, Sprache: Englisch, Text by Josef Styrsa, Foreword by Sir John Hunt, translated by Till Gottheiner. The mountain range known as the Caucasus is over 900 miles long and stretches from the Caspian Sea to the Strait of Kerch between the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Like the Pyrenees, much of the Caucasus range is not cleft by natural passes such as one finds in the Alps. Many of the highest summits, such as Mount Elbrus, stand on spurs of the main range. This book is a description of an expedition made by a party of climbers into the Caucasus range. Mount Elbrus was one of their goals, one that was duly achieved, but this book is more than the story of a mountain climb. Both the magnificent pictures (one of which has been awarded the Vittorio Sella Gold Medal) and the text give a fascinating picture of the life lived by the people of the region, of their homes and of the wild life - animals, birds and flowers to be found there. Sir John Hunt, who met the party during the course of their climb, has written the foreword. ‎U5: Misuse of Wikipedia as a web host

[edit]

Dear SPF, thank you for reviewing userpages. I would like to inquire as to the tagging of U5. May I ask what are the limits to using a userpage to display information? I inserted my brief bionote in it to establish credibility for my edits moving forward but it was struck down. After reviewing this U5 guideline, I am assuming that speedy deletion was done because I included external links to my profile pages. Is that the violation? Thank you. JMPLuga (talk) 17:06, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi JMPLuga, thanks for leaving me a message. the criteria under U5 provides some guidelines, but check out this page. It goes into further detail about what is okay for your userpage. I'll add too that U5 especially applies if you don't have edits in other articles/areas, so typically if a new account uses their userpage as kind of a "social media" profile, with no other constructive edits, that's where it's a little more unambiguous. Hope this helps! SPF121188 (talk this way) (my edits) 17:59, 16 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
