Disruptive editing

[edit]

There is disruptive editing going on in the article Shool, but now you dont want to respond. Ustadeditor2011 (talk) 11:28, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Here to help you. Please could you modify the edit-warning notice that you placed at User talk:Sid95Q#3RR to say which page or pages he/she is edit warring on - my guess is it is Shool - but technicalities are important. In my opinion correctly placed edit-warring notices help users, because they encourage them to use the article talk page, and remind them that they are reverting a lot. If an editor is not edit-war aware, it is easy for them to do too many reverts.
You have made a lot of edits to the article on Shool but none to Talk:Shool. According to the rules governing the three revert rule, he reverted you once on 2 August, and twice on 19 August, whereas you have reverted him/her three times on 19 August. In terms of expected Wikipedia behaviour, you need to explain your edits on the article talk page (Talk:Shool); and I strongly advise not making any more reverts at Shool for about 36 hours. If somebody makes a really bad edit that needs reverting, do not revert, create a section on the article talk page explaining what is wrong with the edit, and saying that the edit should be reverted.-- Toddy1 (talk) 16:17, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Note that the editor who made this edit to your talk page is an admin.[1] -- Toddy1 (talk) 20:43, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Voting for coordinators is now open!

[edit]

Nominations for the upcoming project coordinator election have opened. A team of up to ten coordinators will be elected for the next coordination year. The project coordinators are the designated points of contact for issues concerning the project, and are responsible for maintaining our internal structure and processes. They do not, however, have any authority over article content or editor conduct, or any other special powers. More information on being a coordinator is available here. If you are interested in running, please sign up here by 23:59 UTC on 14 September! Voting will commence on 15 September. If you have any questions, you can contact any member of the current coord team. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 06:41, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Mohamed Atta

[edit]

The date format was changed without consensus by an IP editor about a year ago (making a simple click of an undo button impossible). This happens to be the longest, most in-depth article about the hijackers and I quickly found that fixing it back (pending any possible discussion about the format) was exhausting, so I stopped midway through without thinking about it. In any case it's tedious and boring enough, and my request to have a bot do it was denied (even though it would be useful in many other cases of flip-flopping date formats without discussion). For what it's worth, I've found the IP editor who insisted on the change was not even completely thorough, leaving some dates unchanged (on other hijackers' articles and likely this one too). I've already fixed several of the hijackers' articles back, but I'm bored and frustrated now, so I think I'm done. I have copied your comment to Talk:Mohamed Atta#Date format and will reply there.-- Toddy1 (talk) 18:56, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
