Wikipedia:WikiProject Deletion sorting/Caribbean
![]() | Points of interest related to Caribbean on Wikipedia: History – Portal – Category – WikiProject – Alerts – Deletions – Cleanup – Stubs – Assessment |
This is a collection of discussions on the deletion of articles related to Caribbean. It is one of many deletion lists coordinated by WikiProject Deletion sorting. Anyone can help maintain the list on this page.
- Adding a new AfD discussion
- Adding an AfD to this page does not add it to the main page at WP:AFD. Similarly, removing an AfD from this page does not remove it from the main page at WP:AFD. If you want to nominate an article for deletion, go through the process on that page before adding it to this page. To add a discussion to this page, follow these steps:
- Edit this page and add {{Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/PageName}} to the top of the list. Replace "PageName" with the relevant article name, i.e. the one on the existing AFD discussion. Also, indicate the title of the article in the edit summary as it is particularly helpful to add a link to the article in the edit summary. When you save the page, the discussion will automatically appear.
- You should also tag the AfD by adding {{subst:delsort|Caribbean|~~~~}} to it, which will inform editors that it has been listed here. You may place this tag above or below the nomination statement or at the end of the discussion thread.
- There are a few scripts and tools that can make this easier.
- Removing a closed AfD discussion
- Closed AfD discussions are automatically removed by a bot.
- Other types of discussions
- You can also add and remove other discussions (prod, CfD, TfD etc.) related to Caribbean. For the other XfD's, the process is the same as AfD (except {{Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/PageName}} is used for MFD and {{transclude xfd}} for the rest). For PRODs, adding a link with {{prodded}} will suffice.
- Further information
- For further information see Wikipedia's deletion policy and WP:AfD for general information about Articles for Deletion, including a list of article deletions sorted by day of nomination.
This list is also part of the larger list of deletion debates related to Americas.

The only sources that cover this friendly football tournament are run-of-the-mill announcements that the tournament will occur and reporting of the results. This tournament meets neither WP:NEVENT nor WP:GNG. voorts (talk/contributions) 15:52, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

- Delete. There is some coverage that is more than run of the mill. The topic may move in the direction of notability for the tournament series, not for the editions. The proposed is an annual edition, however, and it is early for such historic perspective. So delete. gidonb (talk) 22:44, 4 July 2024 (UTC)

- Delete: The sources are just basic announcements, and it's too early to say if the tournament itself will be historically significant. Waqar💬 18:21, 6 July 2024 (UTC)

Subject does not meet the WP:NORG, with the only reference being a listing. Speedy was declined so bringing this to AfD. Let'srun (talk) 23:16, 28 June 2024 (UTC)

Delete or redirect. NORG is not measured by references but by sources. Nominators need to do a BEFORE, not a review of references in the article. That said, article is extremely brief and provides virtually no context. Maybe can be redirected somewhere? Otherwise deletewithout prejudice. gidonb (talk) 11:54, 29 June 2024 (UTC)- Note: This discussion has been included in the list of Caribbean-related deletion discussions. North America1000 15:17, 29 June 2024 (UTC)
- I should clarify that a BEFORE didn't come up with any sources to lend the subject meeting any notability guideline. Let'srun (talk) 15:40, 29 June 2024 (UTC)
- Keep The organization is best known as Sentral di Sindikatonan di Korsou, in Papiamento language. I added two references. It is one of the trade union associations of Curacao and represents ten local trade unions. The article requires more work. I hope to be able to find the time. Ruud Buitelaar (talk) 03:09, 3 July 2024 (UTC)
Relisted to generate a more thorough discussion and clearer consensus.
Relisting comment: What is the target article being proposed for a possible redirect?
Please add new comments below this notice. Thanks, Liz Read! Talk! 23:09, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
- Keep. Ruud provided just enough context for keep. My previous delete was without prejudice against keeping if more context is provided, so this change is totally in line with my previous opinion. gidonb (talk) 23:33, 5 July 2024 (UTC)

Article created by user with COI. Immediately PRODed, but unPRODed by same user with no explanation. BLP has many "citation needed" tags and the only two citations present do not appear to be independent and reliable. Subject shows no notability. GoldRomean (talk) 00:31, 5 July 2024 (UTC)
