Reinventing craft and leather, under the creative direction of Jonathan Anderson.

Sobre nosotros

LOEWE is one of the world's major luxury houses. With over 170 years of history, today it is defined by the modernity of its past, an unwavering confidence in the present, and a firm look forward. Craftsmanship, progress and unequalled expertise with leather, LOEWE’s founding pillars, are reconfigured with a timely awareness evident in desirable and functional products across multiple categories, including ready-to-wear, accessories, home and lifestyle. Spain is where LOEWE was born and remains the brand’s home. While its current landscape contains elements from places near and far and the Spanish legacy is expressed in modern ways, the heart of LOEWE still beats in Madrid, where all of its world-renowned leather goods continue to be manufactured. Jonathan Anderson is LOEWE’s creative director. Anderson was born in 1984 in Northern Ireland. After graduating from the London College of Fashion in 2005, he established himself as one of the most acclaimed talents in the industry. Under Anderson, LOEWE started a new chapter, presenting itself to the world more multi-faceted and dynamic than ever. Anderson’s first ready-to-wear collections for LOEWE were presented in 2014. Streamlined, ultrasoft leather accessories are given a playful dynamic in the shapes of animals, and the T Pouch, now a bestseller, is the perfect hand carry accessory. The Puzzle, a completely new bag design by Anderson, his first for the house, adds a novel character to LOEWE´s range of iconic accessories, pairing of-the-moment functionality and aesthetics with ingenious construction and incredible softness.

Our new CASA LOEWE Seoul brings together LOEWE pieces alongside a curated selection of artworks. Korean artist and 2022 LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize winner Dahye Jeong's work, ‘A time of Sincerity,’ is created from horsehair using a 500-year-old hat-making technique, allowing for a balance of precision, transparency, and lightness. Climbing through the centre of the space, Tanabe Chikuunsai IV’s bamboo installation, ‘Source of Creation,’ symbolises the interplay between fashion and art, the two realms of creativity represented by bamboo cylinders rising up through the CASA and growing into one. 2019 LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize finalist Youngsoon Lee’s 'Cocoon Top series-1' stands nearly two metres tall, constructed from Korean mulberry paper and consisting of eight stacked baskets, exploring the artist’s unique view on shape and understated artisanal beauty. A closer look at the Puzzle Wallet. Mirroring the geometric construction of the LOEWE Puzzle bag, the wallet is hand-crafted from 18 different pieces of high-quality nappa and calfskin leather. On the inside, functionality is key, with a coin pocket and logo-engraved snap button, formed with a wooden tool known as a ‘pata de cabra’ or goat’s foot. Leaving plenty of room for bank notes, cards or folded pictures. The edges that line the exterior are delicately painted, framing the angular design and dry-embossed LOEWE logo motif for both a subtle yet unmistakably LOEWE finish. Mumbai-based artist Prajakta Potnis is the latest recipient of the LOEWE FOUNDATION and Studio Voltaire international residency programme. Potnis’ multimedia work, spanning painting, video, and time-based installations, explores the fractures of everyday life, often in the context of gender and social divides, highlighting the nuances and complexities of varying emotions. The year-long residency is part of the ongoing partnership between the LOEWE FOUNDATION and Studio Voltaire, one of the UK’s leading non-profit organisations, working to strengthen representation and accessibility within contemporary arts since 2021. A closer look at the Knot Wallet. Hand-crafted by artisans at our atelier in Madrid, the leather is first moulded to define its shape before being carefully stitched together. On the inside, the stacked leather creates compartments for cards and larger sections for banknotes. Our artisan finishes by tying a knot inspired by the LOEWE Flamenco bag which gives the accessory its distinct addition. Find out more on loewe.com #LOEWE
