Starting as social media moderator of the ATA Medical Division:

• I looked for relevant news/events about the industry for medical translators and interpreters and posted about them, as well as news from the ATA.
• I replied to members whenever they asked questions on social media.

During my term, I helped increase our follower counts on our social media channels and our member list to the point where we became the third-largest ATA division.

As assistant administrator of the ATA Medical Division:

• I supported the administrator to make the ATA Medical Division the go-to place for questions and information about medical and medical-related topics.
• I strengthened the dialog between division members in our forum and social media platforms.

I planned and organized educational and leisure events, including hikes and coffee hours, for AMWA Rocky Mountain Chapter.

In January 2022, I organized and hosted a virtual networking event for medical writers and editors where we discussed topics such as marketing, publications, and regulatory affairs.

In June, I hosted a webinar where Vicky Sherwood, PhD, talked about the different types of medical writers and what is required for each role.

I co-wrote an article called “A Sense of Hope: Interpreters/Translators Share Their Vaccination Journey” for the ATA Chronicle (May 2021).

As a writer for Intercambios — the ATA Spanish Language Division magazine — I have reflected on topics like the coexistence of two different measurement systems in the US (October 2021) and the adequacy of using abbreviations (February 2022).
