Medalla Bigsby

De Wikipedia, la enciclopedia libre

La Medalla Bigsby es una recompensa científica concedida bienalmente por la Sociedad Geológica de Londres para el autor de un trabajo sobre la geología del continente americano.

El receptor de la medalla debe tener realizado el trabajo con menos de 45 años de edad.

Fue nombrada en homenaje al médico y geólogo británico John Jeremiah Bigsby (1792-1881).

La primera medalla Bigsby fue concedida en 1877.
