Sixteen years after the entry into force of the Basaglia Law and within the framework of its institutional studies, Eurispes felt the need to promote a survey as exhaustive as possible of the problems and the perspectives that surround mental health issues. The challenge with this study is to verify the crucial steps in the complex process towards rehabilitation in terms of recognising the human and civil dignity of mental illness and identifying the current trends in the debate on the legal framework of mental health.
