Resumen
La presente comunicación es resultado de una síntesis de las principales conclusiones de una investigación sobre violencia de género en las relaciones amorosas en Portugal, que se realizó en el ámbito de una tesis de máster en Sociologia del Crimen y de la Violencia, en la FCSH-UNL .
Delante de la complejidad del tema elegimos como referencial teórico la categoría de género, que representa la construcción histórica de las relaciones sociales entre los sexos y de representación social, que analiza la construcción del individuo como sujeto social y cultural.
Usamos como metodología la consulta minuciosa de la información existente en proceso clínico y en informe social de 1183 mujeres com 18 o más años, víctimas de violencia por parte de su pareja, que recurrieron a dos de los principales Institutos de Medicina Forense portugueses – Coimbra y Oporto – en el año 2000. Esta investigación nos permitió analizar un tipo de violencia de mayor gravedad legal, visto que los procesos que les dicen respeto tienen en vista la persecución judicial y como tal, representan situaciónes extremas que "rompieron las mallas del silencio”.
Es comenzando del análisis de estos casos y comparándolos con los actos violentos que fueron ejercidos en otro tipo de relaciones (en um total de 977 casos) que procuramos destacar la existencia de características propias de la victimización que ocurre en las relaciónes amorosas y reflejar sobre su carácter paradojal como espacio privilegiado de afectividad y violencia, donde las diferencias de género se revelan relaciones de poder y desigualdad.
Abstract
The present communication is the result from a synthesis of the main conclusions of an investigation about violence of gender in the loving relationships in Portugal, that was made in the scope of a masters thesis in Sociology of Crime and Violence, in FCSH-UNL .
In front of the complexity of the theme we chose as theoretical referencial the category of gender, that represents the historical construction of the social relations between sexes and the social representation, that analyzes the construction of the individual like a social and cultural subject.
We used as methodology the meticulous consultation of the information contained in clinical processes and social reports of 1183 women with 18 or more years, victims of violence by the intimate partner, who went to two of the main portugueses Institutes of Forense Medicine - Coimbra and Oporto – in the year 2000. This investigation allowed us to analyze a type of violence of greater legal gravity, because the processes that tell them respect have in mind the judicial pursuit and as such, they represent extreme situations that "broke the meshes of the silence".
It is starting from the analysis of those data, and comparing them with the violent acts that were exercised against the women in another type of relationships (977 cases), that will try to evidence the existence of specific characteristics of the violence that happens in the loving relationship and to study its paradoxical side as privileged space of afectivity and of violence, where the gender differences has been constituted as relationships of power and of inequality.
