The Dolphins activated Phillips (Achilles) off the active/PUP list Monday, Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post reports. Phillips is now one step closer to returning to the field after tearing his Achilles last November. The 25-year-old will now look to build off the strong season he had last year before getting injured, when he recorded 6.5 sacks across eight games.
The Dolphins placed Phillips (Achilles) on the active/PUP list Thursday. Phillips will start training camp on the PUP list as he works his way back from a right Achilles tear. Though he underwent surgery late November, Phillips has stated that he expects to be ready for Week 1 of the regular season, and he'll be eligible to come off the PUP list at any point in camp or the preseason once ready to practice. Miami also placed fellow star pass-rusher Bradley Chubb (knee), who is recovering from an ACL tear, on the PUP list ahead of camp.

Phillips played 47 snaps on defense Sunday and has played in at least 45 defensive snaps in back-to-back games, a good sign that he is over the oblique injury that forced him to miss two contests this season.
