Peneliti melakukan tujuh tahapan pengembangan skala yaitu: (1) penentuan konstrak ukur, (2) penyusunan indikator-aitem, (3) pengujian validitas isi, (4) uji coba, (5) uji lapangan, (6) seleksi aitem, dan (7) penyusu...

The COVID-19 pandemic alters many aspects of everyday life that we have grown accustomed to. The enactment of various new policies to curb the spread of the disease, i.e., social distancing, work and study from home, restrictions on large-scale activities and restriction in travelling, compel each one of us to adjust. Not to mention the fear of being infected with COVID-19. These conditions led to various psychological problems such as anxiety, low hope, and negative emotions. Efforts to improve people’s mental health are urgently needed. One such step is to increase one’s understanding of self-management in facing psychological problems due to COVID-19. A number of 9 elderly people participated in the experiment were grouped ramdomly into experimental and control group. The results of Mann-Whitney test showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest score in both groups (Z = -1.968, p < 0.05). Experimental group showed a significant decrease of anxiety score after intervention. Zikir theraphy as intervention effectively decrease anxiety in elderly people.

Academic  failure  happens  when  students  poor  in  grade,  do  not  achieve  the
expectation  and  do  not  meet  the  academic  standards.  Academic  failure  is  a  stressful event  which  students  must  deal  with  it.  This  study  was  conducted  to  capture  how students  in  Java  coped  with  academic  failure  from  indigenous  perspective.  The participants were 84 under-graduated Javanese students in Yogyakarta. An open-ended questionnaire  was  employed  to  explore  the  coping  strategies.  The  participants  were asked how they had coped with academic failure. The thematic categorization was used to  analyze  the  data  by  categorizing  it  based  on  theme  similarities.  The  result  showed that  there  were  seven  forms  of  coping  which  performed  by  Javanese  students  who experienced  academic  failure;  (1)  confrontive  problem  solving,  (2)  planful  problem solving, (3) positive reappraisal, (4) accepting responsibility and blaming, (5) seeking social support, (6) avoidance, and (7) close to God. The seven forms of coping can be categorized  as  two  types  of  coping  strategies  according  their  function  in  managing problem.  The  confrontive  and  planful  are  categorized  a  problem-focused  coping. Meanwhile,  positive  reappraisal,  accepting  and  blaming,  seeking  social  support, avoidance,  and  close  to  God  are  categorized  as  emotional  focused  coping.  In  this research, we found that close to God as a unique form of coping in Javanese students.

A parental divorce is a stressful event for children. Several studies show that children from broken-home family have complex problems. However, some children from broken-home family are found to be able to have a good achievement and able to grow to be positive. They are able to build resilience in facing their family problems. The purpose of study was to understand how a child from broken homes achieves resilience. A phenomenology study was used in this study. Interviews and observations were used to collect data. The subject was a 25-year-old female. The resilience framework which focuses on socio-ecological context was used to understand how the subject achieved the resilience. The parents of the subject divorced when the subject was four years old, then subject's mother remarried three times. The subject had stressors related to open conflict between her mother and father, traumatic experience through witnessing physical abuse of step father, lack of openness in communication with mother, and unsupportive friends. In this case, the resilience process began when the subject was already young adult. The subject's understanding could help her in accepting and coping the problem actively. It is supported by subject's internal characteristics including religiosity, cognitive, and social competencies which developed as the subject grown up. The openness in communication which get reciprocity from the significant other around the subject has a role in achieving resilience. Therefore, the lesson learned from this research are resilience can be achieved if the individual who exposured the stressors coped the problem actively. It is supported by both of internal and external resilience factors which include of: (1) acceptance, (2) religiosity, (3) cognitive ability, (4) social competencies, and (5) social support. In this case, mature age seemed to be an important factor in achieving resilience since it reflect maturity in those factors cited previously.

Research in work performance involving employees from different types of jobs is needed. Therefore, there is a necessity of generic instrument in work performance. However, most instruments measuring individual work performance are only developed for specific purposes in particular jobs. Thus it is not appropriate to utilize in a research involving workers from different types of jobs. One of generic instruments measuring work performance is Individual work performance questionnaire (IWPQ). The purpose of this research is to do the adaptation process of IWPQ into Indonesian. The procedure in the adaptation process consists of forward translation, synthesis, back translation, back translation review, and cognitive debriefing. Content validity test using Aiken's V shows that all IWPQ items have high Aiken's V. The field test involving 231 employees shows that IWPQ has a good discriminant indexes, ranging from .447 to .734. The Indonesian version of IWPQ also has a good reliability, in task performance (TP) .871; contextual performance (CP) .858; and counterproductive work behavior (CWB) .814.
