The biggest breakthrough in the field of dentistry in recent years has been the advent of digital dentistry. Digital dentistry widely refers to “Any dental technology or equipment that comprises digital or computer-regulated components in contrast to that of mechanical or electrical alone”. A significant drawback of digital dentistry are expenses involved with its implementation. Nevertheless, if the new technology lives up to expectations, it might be viewed as a benefit in the long run.

In December 2019, a novel infection called Corona virus disease (COVID-19) was first detected in Wuhan, China; caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome Corona virus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).On 11th March,2020, the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 infection a pandemic. Since then the scientific community around the world is trying to decipher this infection to control it better. We have been successful in formulating the vaccine against it in record time, but during this course, it has taken a huge toll of human lives leaving behind people who got infected with various side effects of the infection. In the absence of any definitive treatment, many alternative modes of management systems have appeared. Various herbal agents appear to have a potential role in prevention and management of this infection. In the limited time so far, several studies have been conducted which have shown positive results but also highlights their potential drawbacks with insufficient scientific evidence. This review describes the potential role of common herbal agents as possible means of management of this infection and the need of further research in this direction where these traditional and relatively safe methods could be integrated in the management schemes of various chronic infections and diseases.

Regardless of barriers linked to the patient’s age and behaviour, restoring primary teeth can be technically challenging, and researchers have long searched for an appropriate replacement for glass ionomer cement, composites, and silver amalgam that is cost-effective, fluoride-releasing, convenient to use, and fulfils both strength and acceptable aesthetics. An Alkasite is a resin -based modified composite resin restorative material, comprising alkaline fillers responsible for leaching acid-neutralizing ions like fluoride, calcium, and hydroxide ion. This Alkasite Cention-N is available in A2 tooth shade and has advantages of both Amalgam and GIC and provides better aesthetics and high flexural strength with the additional characteristic of optional light-curing.

Introduction: Dental agenesis is a commonly encountered dental anomaly that affects more than 20% of the human population. It can be categorized as hypodontia, oligodontia, or anodontia. Oligodontia can occur either as an isolated finding or as a part of the syndrome, and the causative factor can be either environmental or genetic.
Case Presentation: This report describes three cases of isolated, non-syndromic tooth agenesis with single/ multiple missing permanent teeth. No other associated clinical features or any systemic involvement were present in these cases, suggesting parental consanguinity as a possible etiological factor.
Conclusion: The purpose of this case report is to promulgate premarital counselling and health awareness programs focusing on the potential consequences of consanguineous marriages and their prevention.

Keywords: Congenitally missing teeth, Developmental anomalies, Dental agenesis, Hypodontia, Oligodontia, Parental consanguinity.

The commotion pandemic has caused has affected almost every aspect of the academic community. Distancing and issues related to the risk of spread have caused researchers to stop most of their most non-COVID clinical trials and experiments, causing a reduction in recruitment of research associates and a lag in data entry into clinical trial databases. Fresh graduates and research scholars who have not yet begun their doctoral research or postdoctoral fellowship are among the most who will endure the consequences. Few valuable crowdfunding options have surfaced to help fund effective scientific research that may otherwise not receive financial support. The institutes affected by the COVID-19 pandemic can seek extra financial aid to cover expenditures that arise from projects being delayed or derailed. The research community should raise awareness of the challenges faced by universities and researchers worldwide and clearly explain the need for action to prevent or limit any further unfavourable consequences.

Background: Tracheal intubation in cervical spine injury patients with application of Manual In Line Stabilization (MILS) of the cervical spine in neutral position is a challenge for the anesthesiologist since it makes visualization of the larynx more difficult using conventional laryngoscopy. Our study was conducted to compare ease of intubation using Airtraq and Intubating laryngeal mask airway (ILMA) in simulated cervical spine injury patient using MILS.
Materials and Methods: 100 ASA I/II patients (without cervical spine injury), aged 18-60 years were randomly allocated in two groups -Group A: Airtraq (n=50), Group I: ILMA (n=50). General anaesthesia was given as per standard protocol in all the patients, after that MILS was applied and patients intubated using Airtraq in group A and ILMA in group I with neck in neutral position. Time taken for intubation, number of attempts for intubation, ease of intubation with Airtraq/ILMA, hemodynamics and complications were compared.
Results: The mean time taken for intubation in the Group A was 12.6 ± 6.6 seconds and in the Group, I was 85.8 36.6 seconds (p<0 xss=removed> Conclusion: Airtraq is a safer and faster alternative when compared to ILMA in patients with simulated cervical spine injury using manual in line stabilization.

Background: The aim of anaesthesia in Total knee replacement (TKR) is to provide adequate analgesia and early ambulation. The recent success of adductor canal block in providing post-operative analgesia and achieving early ambulation has evoked interest in studying the effects of local anaesthetic agents and various adjuvants.
Materials and Methods: This study was a randomized three arm parallel group comparative study conducted in a tertiary care center in India on 135 patients undergoing unilateral total knee replacement under spinal anaesthesia. After completion of the surgery, the adductor canal block was performed with ultrasound guidance at mid-thigh level in all three groups. In group A, 20 ml 0.375% ropivacaine was only used but in group B and C Dexmedetomidine was added to ropivacaine (total volume of 20 ml; 0.375%) at a dose of 0.25 µg/kg and 0.50 µg/kg respectively. The primary outcome of the study was to compare duration of analgesia after the adductor canal block.
Results: Duration to rescue analgesia (in hours) was significantly longer [Group A: 15.71±4.87; Group B: 16.44±6.21; Group C: 19.78±5.57 (p=0.014)] and total opioid (24 hours tramadol needed in mg) consumption [Group A: 60.00±13.94; Group B: 52.22±18.80; Group C: 33.33±13.95 (p=0.033)] was significantly lower in Group C. NRS scores both at movement and rest were significantly lesser in Group C at 18 and 24 hours time points. Patient satisfaction was significantly higher in Group C with 46.67% patient reporting better than expected peri-operative experience (p=0.022).
Conclusion: The addition of dexmedetomidine, 0.5 µg/kg to 0.375% ropivacaine in adductor canal block results in longer duration of analgesia, less 24 hours opioid consumption, better motor strength and better patient satisfaction without any adverse effect after unilateral total knee replacement surgery.

The presence of teeth in a neonate is a rare occurrence. The aetiology of these natal or neonatal teeth
is still not established. Their prevalence is considered to be low, more frequently seen in females. They
routinely occur in the same position as that of the deciduous dentition and more commonly in the incisor
and molar regions of the mandibular arch. It requires an assiduous clinical and radiographic evaluation for
diagnosis and pertinent treatment. The dentists and the child’s paediatricians should be well informed about
possible clinical complexities such as Riga -Fede disease linked to natal or neonatal teeth. The clinician
should consider the overall wellbeing of the infant, before extracting natal/neonatal teeth to prevent the risk
associated with hypoprothrombinaemia, Periodic follow-ups should be scheduled to evaluate its recurrences
or residual tooth formation.

Background and Aims: Intrathecal neostigmine prolongs the duration of analgesia and also appropriate dose reduces the associated side effects. The present study was conducted to evaluate the analgesic efficacy, identify the optimum dose using 3 different doses of neostigmine in combination with bupivacaine in comparison with bupivacaine alone for the intra & postoperative period. Materials and Methods: Eighty patients of ASA I & II undergoing lower limb surgery under spinal anaesthesia were enrolled and divided into 4 groups of 20 each. Group I: bupivacaine control group, Group II: Bupivacaine + 12.5 µgm Neostigmine, Group III: Bupivacaine +25 µgm Neostigmine, Group IV: Bupivacaine + 50µgm Neostigmine. Hemodynamic parameters, sensory and motor characteristics and adverse effects if any were noted. Pain was assessed using visual analog scale (VAS) in postoperative period hourly for 12 hours & then at 24hours. Onset, duration and level of sensory block were recorded along with onset and duration of motor block. Results: Largest dose (50mgm) produced an increase in duration of analgesia by 16.60min (an increase of 20.10%) compared to control group. The 25mgm intrathecal neostigmine resulted in an increase of 7.20min (an increase by 8.25%). Conclusion: The dose of 50mgm neostigmine in comparison with 25mgm dose significantly prolonged the duration of two segment regression, effective and complete analgesia, with no increase in the incidence of nausea and vomiting and hence 50mgm appears to be the optimum dose amongst the doses considered in our study for intrathecal administration in lower limb surgery.

A paraganglioma is rare neuroendocrine neoplasms arise from chromaffin cells that may develop at various body sites (including the head, neck, thorax and abdomen). About 97% are benign and remaining 3% are malignant because they are able to produce distant metastases. Vagal paragangliomas represent <5% of all head and neck paragangliomas, and till date only 200 cases have been reported.1
We present a case of paraganglioma of superior laryngeal nerve, because of rarity of the disease and after careful search no case report as tumor arising from the superior laryngeal nerve is found in the literature. Patient underwent pre-opeative investigations like CT Angio, MRI, DOTA-NOC Scan and tumor markers, intra-operatively it had seen that tumor was arising from superior laryngeal branch of vagus nerve. Patient recovered well after surgery and developed post operative neurological complications like voice changes and aspiration to liquids. These complications were managed conservatively. Absence of neurological symptoms, local invasion, indolent histological features and absence of lymph node metastasis confirm the frequent benign behaviour of these neoplasms.

Introduction and Aim: Colonic air bubbles and foam are major hurdle to a positive colonoscopy. Bubbles hinder mucosal visibility resulting in poor diagnostic precision. This study aimed to determine the efficacy and tolerability of Simethicone in reducing the occurrence of colonic bubbles that could interfere with colon visualization, when added to Polyethylene glycol bowel preparation regimen. Materials and Methods: This is a prospective randomized observer blind interventional study comparing PEG vs PEG + simethicone. Adult outpatients aged 18 to 60 years undergoing colonoscopy were recruited in this study. The primary outcome was the reduction in bubbles measured by intraluminal bubble score. The secondary outcome measures were patients’ tolerability and endoscopists ease. Results: The incidence of Score 1 and 2 bubbles was much lower with PEG + simethicone compared with PEG group (P<.0001). Bubble scores in the control vs study group were significantly different in various segments of the colon. Of the 150 Segments of colon caecum, ascending colon, transverse colon, descending colon and rectosimoid examined segments without bubbles in the control vs study group (38.4% vs 88% P<0.001). There was no significant difference in the incidence and severity of adverse events between the groups. There were no significant differences in the colonoscopy findings between the groups. However, water shooting counts, cecal intubation time and cecal withdrawal time was significantly lower in the PEG-simethicone group compared to PEG group. Conclusion: PEG plus simethicone was more effective in reducing bubbles and enhances the mucosal visualization during colonoscopy.

Reconstruction within the head and neck is usually difficult. Wound is anatomically complicated and already be compromised by inflammation, infection, and scarring. Tissue grafts and vascularised flaps (either pedicled or free) lead healthy tissue to a compromised wound for many favourable healing and are the benchmark for the repair of such defects, however disadvantages are their restricted handiness, the issue of shaping the flap to suit the wound and, most significantly, donor website morbidity. The importance of function and aesthetics has direct advances within the preciseness of surgical techniques. Evolution in navigation, three-dimensional imaging, stereolithographic models, and also the use of custom-made implants will aid and upgrade the accuracy of existing constructive ways. Tissue engineering and distraction osteogenesis avoid the necessity for autologous tissue transfer and may thus be noticeable as additional standard ways of reconstruction. Recently, facial allotransplantation has allowed whole anatomical facial units to get replaced with the chance of sensory recovery and reanimation being completed in a very solitary procedure. However, patients who have facial allotransplants are subject to life-long immunological disorder therefore this technique of reconstruction ought to be restricted to chose cases.

50-year-old female underwent routine uneventful laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Post-operative period was complicated by biliary leak.
Magnetic resonance cholangiography delineated the site of injury as duct of luschka (sub-vesical duct) originating from the right hepatic

Patients with wounds come in varied forms to a plastic surgeon. Usually chronic wounds which are recalcitrant to conservative treatment require surgical management in the form of resurfacing. All recalcitrant wounds need to be seen with suspicion to identify the underlying systemic disease activity. It is tempting for the plastic surgeon to auto graft each chronic wound as early as possible. This is how a night mare begins. This paper is written with the intention of not hurriedly taking up every chronic wound for resurfacing without properly evaluating the patient and how effective communication with a dermatology colleague will go a long way in benefiting the pt. Aims and objective: 1. To discuss our experience of treating three cases of chronic wounds of P.G and the course and events occurring in each chronic wound till ultimate healing of the wounds. 2. The lessons we learnt during each course. Materials and Methods: A detailed description of course of hospital stay of three cases of P.G with description of interdepartmental discussion and review of literature specifically for surgical management of such wounds. Results: Three cases of chronic wounds of which one had active disease healed with conservative mx and the second case in which the disease became quiescent, a pathergy graft test was done, which eventually had no consequences, later a formal ssg was done with no complications. The third case developed new wounds at surgical sites and conservative management was applied. Conclusion: Lessons learnt; 1. Grafting wounds in cases of chronic wounds with P.G needs to be proceeded with extreme caution. 2. Pathergy test ssg to see for flare ups and to proceed when the disease is quiescent or in inactive phase. 3. Interdepartmental communication is very necessary in such cases.

this area resulted for vulnerable complaints of nasal obstruction, often referred to as geriatric rhinitis. The retrospective cross sectional
study was conducted at Victoria and Bowring Hospitals attached to Bangalore Medical College & Research Institute during the year 2010-
11. Total 200 old aged patients screened for the study purpose with irrespective of age and gender bias. The demographic profile and
incumbent parameters were collected through pretested questionnaires. Collected data was analyzed by the SAS-16.50 version. As per the
results the incidence was 20.0% as comprises male was 07(11.60%) and female was found to be 4(6.66%) respectively. Better therapeutic
approach could be needed for geriatric population, who had suffers from chronic sinusitis problems. The structure and function of the aging
nose may contribute to the manifestations and mechanisms of this condition.

study aims to correlate post surgical complications of RPSAs and also we know the age related incidence. A prospective and
retrospective study was undertaken in the Department of ENT, BMCRI. The incumbent laboratory parameters like throat
culture was done for all the suspected patients , Complete blood counts (CBC) , X-ray the results revealed that a total sixty
suspected pediatric patients were were studied prospectively and retrospectively for the period of two years ,out of which
males 35 and females was 25 respectively.Themean age of the patient was 8.96±1.25 years (IQR 4-14years ) median age was
10 years adiological impressions and Computed tomography (CT) scan was done at the greater accuracy. Reduced width of
the air column is most common after post surgical intervention and it was found to be statistically significant (p<0.00) with
respect to lower age group of the population. More research could be intervened to prevent the infections at poor resource set
up.

Tuberculosis has again emerged as public health problem with its resurgence in recent times, is with myriad and unusal presentations in extrapulmonary disease forms. TB of the soft tissue is a rare entity and occurrence of this as a primary tubercular abscess after intramuscular injections in an immune competent person is still rarer. It requires high index of suspicion and appropriate diagnostic methods. We present a case of 45 years old female with this rare presentation.

lntertrochanteric fractures constitute 38-50% of all femoral fractures' and 5-20% of fractures as whole. These fractures are common in elderly population with the incidence of 180/10000. Though dynamic hip screw is considered as a gold standard in the management of intertrochanteric fractures, its role is debatable in the management of unstable intertrochanteric fractures and intramedullary devices such as PFN are considered better implants for these fractures Materials and Methods: The study was conducted on 100 patients with intertrochanteric fracture femur attending the outpatient and emergency department of M.L.B. Medical College, Jhansi between December 2015 to November 2017. The patients were assessed clinically and radiologically and were divided randomly in two groups A and B, patients of group A were treated by-ORIF with Dynamic hip screw and of group B were treated by closed /open reduction internal fixation with long PFN. Patients personal information, clinical findings, radiological findings and follow-up findings were recorded in the working proforma as below. The results were evaluated and compared. Results: The mean age in both the groups was 59.88 ± 16.90 years, In DHS group, there were 5(10%) females and 45(90%) males. In PFN group, there were 13(26%) females and 37(74%) males. There was a male preponderance in both the groups in comparison to the females. In PFN group, there were 30(60%) patients who injured because of fall, while 20(40%) were injured due to RTA. In PFN group, higher number of fall patients were there, while in DHS group, higher number of RTA patients were there. The comparison of mean blood loss in both the groups showed a statistically significant difference (P < 0.0001), with a higher mean blood loss in DHS group in comparison to PFN group. In DHS group, there were 4(8%) patients who had blood loss between 50-100 ml, in 6(12%) the blood loss was between 101-200 ml, in 16(32%) patients it was between 201-300 ml, in 16(32%) patients it was between 301-40 ml and in 8(16%) patients it was more than 400 ml. In PFN group, there were 44(88%) patients who had blood loss between 50-100 ml, in 6(12%) the blood loss was between 101-200 ml and none of the patients had a blood loss of more than 200 ml. In DHS group, 46(92%) patients had no complications, 1(2%) had DVT and 1(2%) had cut out of screw, 2(4%) had infection. In PFN group, 1(2%) had infection, 49(98%) shows no complication. Interpretation and conclusion: In intertrochanteric fractures femur. PFN helps in achieving biological reduction and imparts stability. PFN prevents excessive collapse and limb shortening. Thus it helps in achieving overall good functional outcome. PFN is a load bearing device and gives stability of fracture area proximally and shaft distally, therefore biomechanically PFN is better choice of implant for fixation of peritrochanteric femoral fractures. PFN is better choice of implant than DHS in terms of blood loss during surgery and early rehabilitation. Therefore we advocate the use of PFN in comparison to DHS in intertrochanteric fractures femure except when trochanteric entry point for the PFN is fractured.

ocular injuries in RTA constitute a major but preventable cause of visual morbidity worldwide and so it is of public health
importance. Aim of study was to assess the visual outcomes in patients attending tertiary care hospital with ocular injuries following RTA
and compare various associated risk factors.
Materials and Methods: A prospective study was done with 104 cases of ocular injuries following RTA in GSL Medical College and
Hospital to find out the visual outcome and compare various risk factors. Detailed History and clinical evaluation was done with follow up
at 1st and 3rd week.
Results: Maximum cases were seen in the age group of 30-50yrs, more in males (82.0%), with 67% in two wheelers. Out of the 104 cases,
67% occurred at night, 50% was under the influence of alcohol. Out of which 61% of lid injuries followed by subconjunctival haemorrhage
have good prognosis. 14% cases reported with severe ocular morbidity like open globe injuries with guarded prognosis.
Conclusions: Younger age group was mostly affected with male preponderance, alcohol and two wheelers being quite important risk
factors. Early treatment of ocular injuries and use of protective wear result in better visual outcomes.

Abstract
In India, there are around 10 lakh Pharmacists working in various positions, applying their unique knowledge & skills, contributing to the health of the Nation. WHO recommends a ratio of one pharmacist per 2000 population in order for optimal health care to be delivered. The concept of rotational use of drugs is very important because it will allow in prescribing the right drug, in appropriate dose for prescribed duration which is adequate to the clinical needs of the patient at the lowest cost which ultimately will lead to the safe, proper and effective use of drugs. It has been found than 50% of all medicines worldwide are prescribed, dispensed, or sold inappropriately and 50% of patients fail to take them correctly. So efforts are to be taken in order to have a rational use of drugs which in turn will avoid the ineffective and unsafe treatment, distress, prolongation of illness and increase in the cost of treatment. A pharmacist can play a multidisciplinary approach to the promotion of the rational use of medicines by providing proper information, and instruction regarding the adverse drug reactions, dosage schedule of drugs to the patients and warning them about the unwanted effects of medicines and monitoring such unwanted effects. In collaboration with other health care professionals the pharmacist can play a key role in educating the patient about hazards of self medication, over use of drugs and poly-pharmacy. Pharmacist helps in achieving the goal of rational use of drugs by following good pharmacy practices. Thus we can conclude that promoting the rational use of medicines results in improved quality of life for the patient in particular and for the community in general.

Abstract
Saliva, a biological fluid is steadily emerging as a potent diagnostic tool in modern day health and disease. Advances in molecular biology have led to the invent of certain markers for diagnosis of conditions like oral cancer and dental caries to name a few. In addition, saliva based biomarkers are cost– effective, accurate and provide a noninvasive diagnostic approach. Detecting pathologies at earlier stages can significantly increase survival rates and affect treatment prognosis. The present article discusses various salivary biomarkers that can aid in the diagnosis of many such systemic conditions.

The educational system has been revolutionized and changed the style of learning, teaching, communication and providing the information. There is need to use innovative methods in teaching children with mental retardation. The experiment across ten participants assessed the efficacy of music in teaching concept of direction to children with mental retardation at primary level. Students were divided in two groups: experimental and control. While experimental group receive instruction through rhymes with musical components, other group received instruction in a traditional way. The investigation involved t-test; the findings revealed that experimental group performed better in post test in learning and retention: in addition the researcher observed that the attention, concentration and interest were higher in experimental group though it was not a part of the study.

A frontal sinus mucocoele is a cystic lesion full of thick mucus in the frontal sinuses. It develops when the opening of a paranasal sinus becomes obstructed because of trauma, infection, chronic sinusitis, polyps, malignancy, bony tumors, or congenital anomalies. As it increases in size, a mucocoele can make its way through the surrounding bone or discharge through the skin. Here we present a case of 45-year-old male who developed swelling in the left supraciliary region. CECT scan and MRI was done. It revealed soft tissue enhancing lesion in the left frontal sinus region. Marsupilization was done previously but the swelling recurred after 3 months. Open frontal sinus exploration under general anaesthesia was done removing all the walls of the sac along with affected frontal bone. Patient improved symptomatically after this operation.

Introduction: Allergic rhinitis is a diagnosis associated with a group of symptoms affecting the nose. Treatments for allergic rhinitis include: Nasal corticosteroid sprays, antihistamines, decongestants, Leukotriene inhibitors, allergy shots (immunotherapy). Nasal irrigation is common to both modern and traditional therapy regimes. Improvement in mucociliary clearance is well documented, with the use of normal saline, diluted betadine saline as well as hypertonic saline. This study was designed to compare the efficacy of hypertonic saline nasal irrigation over that of normal saline over that of diluted betadine saline nasal irrigation in the treatment of allergic rhinitis.
Materials and Methods: Prospective randomized comparative study was done on 60 diagnosed cases of allergic rhinitis patients by dividing into three groups and treated with 3% hypertonic saline, normal saline and 0.5% diluted betadine saline. The outcome between pre and post treatment was compared.
Results: Among the three groups no statistically significant difference is seen in outcome.
Conclusion: There was significant outcome following nasal irrigation, in all the three treatments but no significant differences between the
treatments. All three modalities of treatment improve the quality of life.

Ramsay Hunt syndrome is the second most common cause of facial palsy.
At least three separate neurological syndromes carry the name of Ramsay Hunt syndrome (RHS), their only connection being that they were all first described by James Ramsay Hunt. Ramsay Hunt syndrome (RHS) type 1 is a rare and nebulous entity that has alternatively been called dyssynergia cerebellaris myoclonica, dyssynergia cerebellaris progressiva, dentatorubral degeneration, or Ramsay Hunt cerebellar syndrome.
Ramsay Hunt syndrome (RHS) type 2 is a disorder that is caused by the reactivation of preexisting herpes zoster virus in a nerve cell bundle (the geniculate ganglion). Ramsay Hunt syndrome type III, a less commonly referenced condition, and a neuropathy of the deep palmar branch of the ulnar nerve. Ramsay Hunt Syndrome Type II (RHS) is a rare neurological disorder. This syndrome is caused by the varicella zoster virus (VZV), the same virus that causes chickenpox in children and shingles (herpes zoster) in adults. In cases of Ramsay-Hunt syndrome Type II, previously inactive varicella-zoster virus is reactivated and spreads to affect the facial nerves. The classic Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which always develops after a herpetic infection, also can be associated with vertigo, ipsilateral hearing loss, tinnitus, and facial paresis apart from otalgia. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a new and important tool for use in diagnosing and investigating diseases affecting the facial nerve. In recent gadolinium-DTPA enhanced MRI (GdMRI) studies it has unequivocally been demonstrated that ipsilateral facial nerve, geniculate ganglion, auditory and vestibular nerves, cochlea and vestibule contrast enhancement is present. A case report of Ramsay Hunt syndrome with cochleo-vestibular involvement is reported and role of Gd-MRI is discussed.
