Vivid Sydney and WWF-Australia unite to save Australia's wildlife and wild places
In the final days of Australia’s largest festival, Vivid Sydney, attendees are being reminded of the importance of supporting the event’s official charity partner, World Wildlife Fund Australia, to ensure the survival of Australia’s iconic animals and landscapes.
The partnership is a fitting extension of the festival’s creative theme for 2023 — ‘Vivid Sydney, Naturally.’ With a mission to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, WWF-Australia works to regenerate and restore wildlife and habitats, and safeguard Australia against the impacts of a changing climate.
Festival attendees can donate funds to support WWF-Australia's Regenerate Australia projects by scanning QR codes on Vivid Sydney lightboxes on the festival footprint. Funds raised from WWF-Australia event tickets and donations during Vivid Sydney’s 23 nights will go towards regeneration projects in New South Wales and enable WWF-Australia to continue its inspiring conservation work.
Vivid Sydney Festival Director Gill Minervini said: “This year’s theme, ‘Vivid Sydney, Naturally’, lends itself perfectly to the inspiring and important work WWF-Australia undertakes every day to protect our natural environment. This partnership contributes to WWF’s mission by engaging festivalgoers in unique and powerful ways, bringing visitors incredible experiences that deliver important messages about the future of our beautiful country and its wildlife.”
Rachael Lance, Head of Individual Giving said: “We are delighted that WWF-Australia has been able to spread awareness and raise much-needed funds to protect Australia’s environment during Vivid Sydney. Our wildlife and wild places face unprecedented challenges, but with public support we can build a more sustainable future in which people and nature thrive.”
