early footage of @meidui unearthed!
Captain America: Civil War (dir. Joe and Anthony Russo, 2016)
At this point, I doubt anything would surprise me. Ten bucks says you're wrong.
Guys I’m not an American people - are these super old notes? Fury does a bit of a double take so I’ve always wondered.
Also, if they are old, are they actually worth a lot more than 10 dollars, or is it not old *enough* to work like that?
From what I can see of the money it looks like a standard $10 from 2012
The bottom one is older. And $10s still look like the top. The last question about how old it would have to be to be worth more than 10 dollars I'm not sure of
Thank you, that’s so interesting!
I think Fury is surprised bc Steve is paying up on a bet made entirely in jest. He never wanted Steve’s money; the bet was made to indicate how confident Fury is that Steve will be surprised in the modern world.
Further, Steve hands him the 10 without comment (but on, y'know, a flying aircraft carrier), leaving Fury to recall their previous conversation and understand that Steve is acknowledging Fury was right.
(Doylian explanation of which is that Whedon wanted to call back to the previous joke, but the bit didn't need much screen time, so nothing needed to be said.)
Gotcha. Me & my husband did a big Marvel rewatch recently and were suddenly like - wait, does Steve have old money? We would never know cause we don’t know what USD looks like 😂 but it does make sense for it just to be the callback for Fury. Firmly establishes Steve’s character, too
HE DOOOOOOOO

steve doesn’t have any family heirlooms left that he can give to tony as a token of commitment, so he gives him one of his two dog tags to keep instead. tony knows that when steve was issued his tags, the regulation was that one would stay with his body if he was killed in action and the other would be taken away for record keeping. they don’t talk a lot about what it means that steve gave one to tony, but it probably means about the same thing as tony giving steve override permissions on his suits.
always thinking about how 25 yr-old steve rogers had a full 2 weeks to process losing 70 years of his life before he was asked to lead 5 superpowered beings against an alien army from outer space even though he still didn’t know that we put a man on the moon.
Why do I love u so much🥺🥺
me omg?? ; ; this is the sweetest ask ever i love you and your art ♡
If people had had the SENSE to sleep with Steve Rogers back when he was shorter then they would have known he fucked like an absolute freak. Unfortunately it seems no one took any FUCKING INITIATIVE in the 40’s and just wasted all the unhinged horny potential of a 5’5 man who knew any day could be his last and lived like it. A real damn shame.
