Boughey yard in form and was a big eyecatcher last month when beaten just over a length into fourth in a 7f Newbury handicap. The draw in 11 isn’t ideal but he should be rattling home.
Last year’s Ebor winner showed his class when going on to win the County Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March. He disappointed in the Irish St Leger trial at the Curragh on his return but probably just needed the run. Big chance.

One of the most unique courses in the country, ‘The Roodee’ is the oldest track still in use in England with racing dating back to the early 16th century. Located in the heart of Chester with viewing available from the inside section of the track, it should be on the bucket list for any Horse Racing fan. Being just over a mile round, it’s one of the smallest tracks in the country and horses are on the turn throughout. Course form is vital and something we always look for when selecting our tips, nimble horses, in particular, do well here.
An extreme bias exists over five furlongs at Chester towards the low stalls which we have to consider for our tips, it’s even better if a low drawn horse is a front runner. There is less of a bias over longer distances, but you don’t want to be caught too far back as the straight is only just over a furlong.
The biggest race at the Roodee is the Chester Cup, one of the feature handicaps of the flat season. The track also hosts a brilliant May Festival, which includes the Group 2 Huxley Stakes.
