do you have any advice for spotting constellations? i get a bit overwhelmed when i try to match up pictures i find online with the starry sky

any of the stargazing phone apps like sky guide, sky view, etc. these will adjust based on your location as you tilt your phone to different areas of the sky. the stars and sky are usually adjusted for brightness so you can look for the brightest stars first!! i’d experiment with whatever is on your OS of choice and find your favorite :-)

What is it about the moon that causes so many rovers to face plant?

less a question of what it is about the moon, more a testament to the human ability to look at the nearest celestial body and be inspired to seek new knowledge. we’re trying our best to figure out reaching places outside of our own planet but aerospace is such a young industry and more and more nations are gaining the resources to build their own space agencies. we’ll keep shooting for the moon and one day we’ll make it to a nearby star
