hi all 🫶🏼 i know everyone is having a hard time right now but we could really use some help. my sweet beautiful beloved malewife boyfie girlfriendthing creature-partner-in-crime @divinemission got screwed over on his last check because his manager didn’t correct his timesheet before he was paid. because of this, his check was lighter than usual, so all of it went directly to rent. he was also recently turned down for a promotion that would’ve really helped us to be more financially stable, which was absolutely a racially motivated move on the hiring team’s part. my health has been steadily deteriorating due to my disability and i’m currently struggling to find a job that doesn’t require me to be on my feet for 8-10 hours, so i don’t have income at the moment. we’re both struggling with cfs and audhd burnout. we are in desperate need of grocery funds and money to pay our bills.

Hello! I'm making another post about my friends Rajaa and Khaled (@rajaagaza and @khaled-gaza) and their baby boy Karam. They're currently stuck in Gaza, living under horrible conditions. There is no reprieve from the heat, there is no fresh water, there is no food. They are under constant threat of attacks. Everything is exorbitantly priced and Rajaa and Khaled are desperate to ensure their and their child's survival by evacuating to Egypt.
Unfortunately, the price to cross the border is incredibly high right now. It's about $5,000 for adults and $2,500 for children. Rajaa and Khaled have an overall goal of $20,000 CAD to cover these expenses, in addition to the expenses associated with the daily cost of living once in Egypt.
I cannot stress enough how urgent this is. There's talks of the border opening soon, and Rajaa and Khaled need these funds to be able to escape. Their baby is only one-and-a-half years old. He is suffering from malnutrition. Karam was seven months old when this war started, which means he has known terror, hunger and displacement longer than he has known peace, security and comfort.
I've been speaking to Rajaa whenever she has internet access, and it's always a relief to hear from her. It's also painful, because I know how much she and her family are suffering, and there's so little I can do to help them. I implore you to do what you can to help them escape Gaza and build a new life together.
Rajaa and Khaled are looking to raise an initial goal of $8,000 CAD, which would cover the cost of Karam's travel expenses, along with Rajaa or Khaled. They are hoping that the remaining $5,000 will be raised in time so that both of them can cross with their child at the same time, but the situation is dire and this $8,000 goal is the minimum they need for one of them + their baby. This is so achievable!
They've raised $5,568 CAD so far after months of fundraising! They're only $2,432 CAD away from that first goal!
If you're in the U.S your money will go particularly far. $5 CAD is currently equivalent to $3.60 USD. You truly do not have to donate much to make a significant impact here. Any amount you are able to give makes a world of difference.

So um, if we want to play Fuck Marry Kill and a character chosen is indigenous, what should the answers be instead? Or should we just not let indigenous characters be a part of the game?

I don’t know how hard it is to understand that joking around & doing a fuck/marry/kill with a Native SPIRIT (one that specifically protects women from violence/murder) and joking about whether you’d murder her is tasteless, creepy, and disrespectful. The actress that portrays her in Reservation Dogs was herself almost killed and was stabbed as a little girl because of Native targeted racism & police violence (of which they are heavily responsible in either committing violence & murder against Native women, or protecting those that do) during the Oka Crisis.
I honestly think a lot of ppl just think Native American spirituality is just a free punching bag at any time & that’s its always okay to do shit like this with.
My sister got scammed by fucking. Pow wow security here omfg. She was supposed to work security (for which they said she didn't need a security license/training for and could just send an application for), only for her to get here & they tell her she DID need a license but were like "actually, we'll let you just work for the weekend", let her work for four hours, then fired her and told her they're not paying her (after they forced her to buy $100 steel toed boots).

Please report them to the Dept of Labor. Given the evidence (emails, texts, witnesses, etc.) your sister shouldn't need an employment attorney. They should take up the case and get her paid. It might take a a while but hopefully mutual aid will cover you until then.
I’m not sure how much we’d be able to give as evidence because a lot of the recruitment process had been over the phone and verbal (minus the poster I’ve provided as well as her submitting an application), BUT, I think they anticipated us doing this because we called around to see what to do, and they suddenly offered to pay her again for the working hours, but not the boots (which is the opposite to what they’d earlier said would happen). So far they haven’t paid her via etransfer yet (which is the method they claimed they’d use) so we’ll have to see what happens.
