FIFA 20

FIFA 20 is een voetbalsimulatiespel uit de FIFA-computerspellenreeks. Het spel werd tijdens E3 in 2019 officieel bekendgemaakt en werd uitgebracht op 27 september 2019.

Het spel zou verbeterde computertegenstanders, schietmechanisme en zogeheten ball physics hebben: de manier waarop de bal zich gedraagt.

FIFA 20 krijgt een nieuw commentatorduo. Sierd de Vos wordt de hoofdcommentator en Jeroen Grueter de co-commentator.

Eind juli 2019 werd bekend dat de Italiaanse voetbalclub Juventus in de game bekend zal staan als Piemonte Calcio. Dit is omdat Juventus een exclusieve deal heeft gesloten met voetbalsimulatiespellenreeks PES. De officiële licentie van de Italiaanse competitie blijft wel bij FIFA 20, waardoor de spelers in het spel aanwezig zijn.

Opspraak Johan Cruijff

FIFA 19 was het eerste spel waarbij de speler de kaart van de oud-voetballer Johan Cruijff kon bemachtigen en gebruiken. Op 28 juli 2019 kondigde eSporter Koen Weijland op YouTube een petitie aan, om FIFA aan te sporen het puntenaantal van Cruijff te verhogen. Hij vond Cruijffs rating van 94 van de 99 punten in schril contrast staan tot die van bijvoorbeeld Pelé (98, de hoogst beoordeelde ICON in het spel), Diego Maradona (97), de Braziliaanse Ronaldo en Zinedine Zidane (beide 96). Deze actie heeft echter niet geresulteerd in een verhoging van Cruijffs rating.

Soundtracks

Naast de soundtracks die in het 'normale' spel te horen waren, koos EA voor een extra set soundtracks in het nieuwe speltype Volta. Enkele nummers kwamen in beide speltypen voor.
