Recent findings show the poor performances of students in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) examina... more Recent findings show the poor performances of students in Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) examinations. This could be attributed to the administration of questions on application of knowledge rather than on fundamental of knowledge. Candidates doing these examinations at times choose options that are close to the actual answer but get zero (0) as the reward. The objective of developing a system that rewards a candidate based on the approximation of an option chosen not on the exactness of the option to the answer was therefore formulated in this study. 500 MCQs with their model answers, students’ answers and scores obtained from two universities in Nigeria were collected. Jaro similarity measure was used to compute the degree of similarity between the model answers and the student answers. Results of the experiment show an average deviation of 13.3 marks. Firstly, two types of integrals are studied. The first type is Stratonovich integral, and the second type is Wick-Ito integral. Then we establish the functional Ito formulas for fractional Brownian motion, which extend the functional Ito formulas in Dupire (2009) and Cont-Fournie (2013) to the case of non-semimartingale. Finally, as an application, we deal with a class of fractional backward stochastic differential equations (BSDEs). A relation between fractional BSDEs and path-dependent partial differential equations (PDEs) is established.

(mLearning) model that will help with the h... more In this study, a national interactive Mobile learning (mLearning) model that will help with the high demand for tertiary education in Nigeria is proposed for National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). The proposed model is referred to as the National mLearning model through Interactive Education Satellite (NEduSat). The Education Satellite, a Communication Satellite, has a foot-print that can efficiently and effectively cover the entire Nigeria and reach a wide area and mobile users that cannot be reached otherwise. The model implements existing interactivity components to enhance the learning process and meet international standards in education these components are Communication satellite (NIGCOMSAT-1R), remote stations with VSAT terminals, main hub station with archiving capabilities, centralised broadcasting station, centralised content development and class scheduling and interactive and non-interactive class rooms. Document engineering was used to synthesize complementary ideas from information, systems analysis and electronic publishing into functionally dependent aggregates that facilitate the design of the mLearning model. NEduSat incorporates hotspots, mobile broadcasting vans and mobile devices such as Tablets, Iphones, net-books e.t.c. This is an innovation when compared with other mLearning models.
