Mother-in-law’s ‘unforgivable’ wedding act stuns internet: ‘Makes me vomit’

In a shocking display of disregard for wedding etiquette, a mother-of-the-groom has sparked outrage by wearing a dress that some argue was ‘more bridal than the bride’s’ at her son’s nuptials.

A photo that has gone viral in a wedding-shaming Facebook group showed the groom’s mum in a flowing white dress, complete with a train, a cream hat, and a corsage.

The bride’s MIL stands proudly in her outfit next to the newlywed couple, seemingly oblivious to the awkward faux pas she’s committing.

And when you see her white dress next to the bride’s, it looks almost whiter and brighter— a choice many have labeled as “unforgivable.”

The shocking MIL wedding faux pas

Commenters were quick to criticize, with one writing: “Makes me vomit when I see mothers like this.”

“The cape, the gown, the fascinator… oh, my God. It would have been over the top, but fine if in any other color. I hope to be as patient as this bride one day,” said another.

“I cannot imagine doing this to any woman who decides to marry my son. Like, hon, I of all people know how difficult he can be to live with, may the old Gods and the new bless you for your sacrifice,” a third woman quipped.

Maybe she asked the bride for permission?

Others suggested that the mother might have had prior permission from the bride to wear the dress.

“Surrrellyyyy she would have asked to wear this,” one said.

“You don’t just rock up to a wedding like that without having had a conversation about what you’re wearing,” another insisted.

Despite this possibility, the overwhelming majority thought this probably wasn’t the case.

“I’m 99 percent sure this wasn’t bride-approved as it’s white, and the bride’s dress is ever so slightly off-white. And the bride looks perfect!” someone concluded.
