Brooklyn Mom Who Cares For Others The 'Epitome Of Motherhood'

BROOKLYN, NY— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your mom extra special?

My mom is so special to me. To me, she’s the closest person I’ve ever known who is like a saint. She’s a retired nurse and has spent her entire life caring for others. She has cared for her children, her grandchildren, her neighbors and her elderly mom when she was terminally ill. Now my mom cares for her great-grandchildren too!

She gives of herself unselfishly and never complains. She is the epitome of motherhood. Today I’d like to shine a spotlight on her greatest. Her love and support are truly inspiring to behold. I’d like to nominate Roberta Dickerson as truly one of the world’s greatest moms.
