Uber Driver Robbed, Pistol Whipped By Riders: NYPD

CROWN HEIGHTS, NY - Two men are at large after a driver was robbed and struck in the head with a gun during an Uber ride last week, authorities said.

The 47-year-old Uber driver had picked up the two men in front of 747 Crown St. on June 19 at about 10:18 p.m. when the riders showed a gun and demanded money and a cell phone, police said.

When the driver refused to comply, the men struck him in the head with the firearm, causing lacerations to the head, police said. Both men left the car without taking any property.

The driver sustained minor injuries and bruising as a result of the incident. He was rushed to University Hospital of SUNY Downstate Medical Center in stable condition, police said.

The first individual being sought is described as a man with a slim build and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants and black sneakers, police said.

The second individual being sought is described as a a man with a slim build and was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt with white lettering, black sweatpants and dark-colored sneakers.
