@Umherirrender Thank you for your explanation! Well, I got it, but it still seems weird to me. Why is the local redirect page somehow related to Wikimedia Commons? And why did the local and Commons uploaders, which are two different uploaders, both uploaded a file under the title File:ImageHandler.png? There could be a link somewhere that will create/upload a file under that title. By the way, I found another file on Commons but with another extension. Here: File:ImageHandler.jpg. Perhaps there is a problem somewhere that needs to be addressed.

Aram added a comment to T365920: welcome.py script: use "Mediawiki:Newusermessage-signatures" page for RANDOM_SIGN variable instead of different page per project.

@Xqt, That's the question I expected! This is just my answer and it may be better to get the experience of experts. If we’re just talking about adding a welcome message, yes, the extension defeats the script leaving it no chance to welcome users, but the script can still check for bad names, has many features and fully customizable. The extension usually don't let welcom.py script from adding welcome messages because once an account is attached to the project, the extension immediately sends a welcome message. I don't know about the extension configurations, but take a look at User:New user message contributions on ckbwiki; all of them are just sending a welcome message.

Hi @Aram: I removed the -up option and made it default as suggested. I didn't found the immageimage for replacemet within the code. The -nouserwarning is right as it it because this is just a but to be set instead of additional input requirements for that option.

No, -up is still not the default and I have to use it to see the template at top. You can see immage in patchset 2 and looks like you've replaced it to image in patchset 3. But if we make the up as default, we don't need -up anymore, but we need -down instead. Am I right?

I checked the diff changes and they were okay, but that second edit says something else. This time, I tried to manually save edits by pressing y and I didn't find the same case. So, there is something wrong with -always parameter.

@Xqt, Special thanks! Technically, it is now working for me as I wanted. But I think we didn't want to create -up because almost all these kind of templates should be placed above. However, if you still consider it necessary, then we may need to make "-up" the default. If you don't want to do so, I'm still good with your update now.

Aram added a comment to T351951: category_redirect script of Pywikibot is not working as it's documented.

I haven't found any in the code but in the i18n at translatewiki and this should be changed there.

No, the symbol is in the category_redirect.py and not related to translatewiki.net. It is in self.newredirs.append('*# {} → {}'.format(.

This is intentional because you pressed Ctrl-C instead of choosing N for the question Continue with soft category redirects ([y]es, [n]o)

But in case of working on hard redirects and Ctrl-C for soft redirects, we need to print the execution, read, write and skip statistics rather than just quitting the script.

This is a good catch and I am working on it.

Thanks! This is now solved.

We currently have no other implementation except change_category. Maybe it it a feature request but it is not trivial to implement it.

If we collect all modifications and publish all in just one edit per page, we save the history pages from expanding.

With -always option hard and soft category checks are processed without any questions. If hard category check is interrupted (Ctrl-C) the following soft redirect check is not done.

I'm not sure about this, but I think we have to let the operator to just work on the soft redirects only and skip the hard redirects if they wanted.

@Xqt, Thank you for your reply! Yes, the additional -up option can fix the problem, but it doesn't have to affect the message sent to the uploader's talk page. However, (in my opinion) adding the tag to the top of the image/file pages should be made the default option, rather than implemented by adding the -up option because as far as I know all tags are added at the top of articles and pages except for a few ones. Such as those related to categories; like this one: Template:Uncategorized). Thanks!

Sorry, I don't know exactly what to do. I did a search through Phabricator and Gerrit and the @matmarex came up a lot around this case. I hope he has information on this.

Hi @Aklapper, I don't know if you remember this task, but I installed MediaWiki software on my computer yesterday. I noticed that what we see on the Central Kurdish Wikipedia in this case I did not see at all on my installed Mediawiki. That is, what I saw in my personal Mediawiki shows me exactly what I expected.
I thought the problem was with ckbwiki itself, not MediaWiki, so I searched a lot in ckbwiki's local scripts, but couldn't find anything affected this case.

Hi again @Mjquinn_id, accordding to Tech News: 2023-03 that says "The 2023 edition of the Community Wishlist Survey, which invites contributors to make technical proposals and vote for tools and improvements, starts next week on 23 January 2023 at 18:00 UTC. You can start drafting your proposals in the CWS sandbox.", you can prepare a proposal for this task. I hope it gets a lot of support. But remeber, this is just a starting point, not an official request.

@Aklapper, Look, h3-h6 headings font(s) are inherited from the body tag here:

After unchecking it, h3-h6 headings used sans-serif:

@Mjquinn_id, If this feature is implemented, it will be unique! Unfortunately, it would have been more likely to be created if this request had been submitted to the Community Wishlist Survey earlier. Still, I hope an attempt is made to build this feature. In fact, I have the same problem and see a lot of problems that I have to fix, but I don't have time at that time so I have to bookmark pages or keep windows open in my browser, but they often get lost. I'm not a programmer, but I'm willing to do whatever I can to make this feature.

@Amire80 If we add "the page" part, the suffixes can be omitted, but the correct thing to do is to still write the suffixes. The default suffix is "ەوە", and the other one is "وە". The non-default one can be applied to those rules I have described above. Anything else I need to answer?

Thanks. Looking at the message, could you perhaps translate it with the word "page", and then apply the grammar rule to the word "page" instead of the name? Something like Redirected from the page "[[$1]]".

Hi @Jdlrobson and @Nikerabbit, and sorry for mentioning you both again here, I just took a tour of the Grammar page and all the links it provides, but I really still don't understand how I can get what's done in that template. I would like this problem to be solved through translatewiki.net, not the Wikipedia template, but there is no good and useful instruction (from my point of view) to do so. Even I still don't understand why this task is closed when it is still debatable.
