The state of the building is... horrific.

Heres a fundraiser link set up to help support the businesses that were destroyed
the irony is that palestinians also don't enjoy receiving donations and unlike americans, online campaigns and gofundmes are not common or culturally acceptable (egyptians and sudanese people are also similar in this respect, but palestinians even moreso) and i know several younger generations of palestinians (and sudanese) are raising these funds behind their parents' backs because they would not accept this money if they knew it was raised by strangers, and i know others whose families were VERY against it until it became a matter of their children or grandchildren surviving or getting lifesaving medical care.
during the beginning of the genocide as well donations were not recommended because the problem was political, not economic. it couldn't be solved by donating enough to UNRWA or whatever. but once egypt raised the border crossing fees by 500% and israel destroyed everything within gaza, including cutting access to electricity and telecoms, as well as schools and banks and hospitals, the situation quite obviously changed.
does anyone have sudoku mobile recs
You may have heard of Shahed (@shahednhall) - most likely through the recent racist smear campaigns taking stabs at her name in lack of anything concrete to validate their anti-Palestinian hatred.
But did you also know she's a photographer? Did you know she loves baking and fashion?
Photos from Shahed's instagram.
Did you know she is the primary caretaker of her five younger siblings, the youngest of which is a newborn? Did you know that she loves them more than anything?
Did you know her three sisters are sick with viral hepatitis due to the unsanitary conditions in Gaza?
Because of Shahed's love for them, she found the strength despite her own sickness and malnourishment to walk great distances while she was supposed to be sheltering from bombardment, to find internet access to raise funds to evacuate her sister so that they may seek medical care.
Because of that strength, she was able to raise enough funds for them, but if she doesn't reach the end goal of her campaign as soon as next week, she will be separated from her sisters.
As of this post, she has raised $65,561 out of $80,000. That is barely enough for her siblings and her father, who has a heart disease. That is not enough money for Shahed to go with them!
I implore you to make sure Shahed is not left behind. I implore you to get them out together as a family.

The above screenshots are all notes from posts I made for Siraj or posts I made while thinking about Siraj's fundraiser.
None of it helped Siraj avoid a stagnant campaign. He gets short bursts of activity ( he is grateful for every dollar, trust me he expresses joy at every $5 dollar donation ) but, after that the campaign stagnates for days. So all that is happening is that I am getting activity. My notes have filled up, my phone does not stop pinging- but for Siraj it is the same as always with donations trickling in slowly.
Siraj does not have time. He cannot afford time. He is not evacuating, not because he is safe or has time, but because he refuses to be a refugee. Refuses for the occupation to throw him out of his city. Anything can happen to Siraj ( May God keep him safe, I hate to even think about this) , but anything can happen...who would rebuild his house then? Who would fulfill his promise to his children?
Siraj doesn't know what will happen in the next day, when he has to travel 3 km to reach the Internet point. The occupation forces have attacked many on the way there. But Siraj still has to brave that road, hoping that somehow, someday he will have enough friends who are willing to donate. A journalist by profession, he offers you the truth in exchange of your support. So please help him. Please listen.
🛑‼️ Stop ‼️
(The specific definition of the Tetris Effect I am referring to here is when you play so much of a video game that you instinctively apply the logic of that game while doing something in real life. Like thinking about how well two objects would stack together because you've been playing a lot of Tetris, or having the impulse to vault a counter instead of walking around it after playing a lot of Assassin's Creed. Personally I have, I had the impulse to quick save before starting a hard conversation after playing an ungodly amount of Skyrim.)
I am beyond sad but more so outraged by the lacklustre support today shown for Wafaa's nieces and nephews (@wafans-blog). The emotion hadn't strike me fully in the chest until I saw Wafaa had reblogged my plush toy giveaway post in Arabic out of desperation for people to see the fundraiser, for them to care about her family, before editing her reblog and rewriting the post so that it is in ENGLISH. FOR YOU TO READ AND SHARE.
Palestinian families like Wafaa are doing this every day, logging onto a website with hate mobs just waiting for Palestinians to present themselves as less than "perfect victims" so they can accuse them of being bots or malicious scammers. Do you know how mortifying it is to have to bare your soul and your rawest emotions onto the internet for all to see? For strangers to see your suffering and for you to continuously beg for help to save your children and your loved ones only for it to fall on deaf ears?
Palestinian bloggers have been verifying posts FOR YOU and Palestinian families have been posting their pictures and their family stories all in English FOR YOU. The least you can do is shut up and share the campaigns of those who are already verified. The second thing you should do is donate whatever you can spare. No one is asking you to devote your entire fortune to saving anyone. But even a $5 donation, the cost of coffee before tax, will be enough to make a difference.
Go donate to Wafaa's family so her sister and brother can register their beloved children for evacuation. Muhammad fears every day that he will watch his newborn son waste away before his eyes and there is nothing he could do to prevent this except hope for money to be raised so the older children could take Salem away from this place. Please. Do what you can.
No one knows how tired and exhausted we are, but we are trying with all our might for the sake of our loved ones. Today, after ten days, I was able to contact my family. Tears were flowing as we talked. How can you see their look of hope? This link, you and me, the donors. This is a huge burden on my shoulders. I'm trying with all my might. Despite my difficult circumstances, I have to fight for them. Today I saw Salem in how bad his condition was. I'm afraid he'll get hurt. He's a very young child
Please do not leave them or abandon them. They need you. They are waiting for your donation. They will reach safety.🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺🫂🫂🫂
Please try to publish as much as you can and donate if you are able. $5 is a link to salvation. Saving children from hunger and death 🙏🙏🙏🙏🥺
