Musings about Ourselves and Other Strangers
If you've ever been surprised by your own thoughts, well, you're not alone. From the time we're born to the time we die, we spend our lives meeting strangers — including the one within. We also spend our lives learning about many of those strangers, and turning them into colleagues, friends, and family. In Musings about Ourselves and Other Strangers, host Charlie Bresler talks with fascinating people on their musings about family, community, work, helping others, and getting to know the stranger inside ourselves. Where do we fit in the world we all inhabit together? Join us as our musing leads us to some unexpected places. Charlie Bresler is the co-founder of The Life You Can Save and former President of a large international retail company. Here he investigates ideas that he has been “musing” on since he obtained his Ph.D. in clinical and social psychology way back in 1984.
This is the podcast we all need right now

Charlie Bresler is an engaging and deep conversationalist who helps people be thoughtful about their place in the world and how we can be better and do better. The podcast makes listeners feel like a pseudo participant in these conversations and inspires action - even if simply being more thoughtful about how to navigate this complex world and make better choices.
Excellent guests and thoughtful questions

I’ve enjoyed the first two episodes and particularly like the candor, pointed questions and perspective.
The Personal and the Political

The opening conversations in this series are both first rate. Charlie Bresler is a reflective, unobtrusive, but engaged interviewer who brings to bear his experience as a Psychology PhD, former corporate president, and co-founder with Peter Singer of “The Life You Can Save” (an organization dedicated to eradicating extreme poverty around the world), while drawing more generally on his longtime progressive commitments. The first two episodes are with distinguished artists—singer-songwriter-guitarist José González and TV writer-director-producer Michael Schur. Both range widely but center on the complex relationship between our imperfect-but-aspiring private lives and our desire to help make the world a better place, including through a commitment to effective altruism, Charlie’s focus at “The Life You Can Save.” If you are interested in making a difference while also living a rich, complex personal life, this series will help you think through the issues involved and provide you with some options, with a point of departure. Highly recommended.
Thought provoking discussion

Listening to Charlie Bresler interview someone, hearing his thoughts and experience and how a conversation unwinds with the person he interviews is always a great experience! Looking forward to hearing more! I highly recommend.
