Gianpaolo Carrafiello is a Full Professor of Radiology at the Department of Health Sciences, University of Milan, Italy. He is also the Chief of the Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Department at San Paolo University Hospital, University of Milan. He obtained his Medical Doctor Degree at the University of Pavia, Italy, in 1991, a Medical Radiology Postgraduate Degree in 1995, and a Medical Statistics Postgraduate Degree in 1999. He is a member of the La Radiologia Medica editorial board; a member of the CVIR editorial board; a member of the European Radiology editorial board (section of Emergency Radiology); and a member of the Annals of Gastroenterology editorial board. He is a reviewer for many journals such as European Radiology, Emergency Radiology, Cardiovascular Interventional Radiology, British Journal of Radiology, La Radiologia Medica, Acta Radiologica, Skeletal Radiology, and Korean Journal of Radiology. He is a member of the Executive Council of SIRM with the office of Director, President-Elect of the SIRM Regional Group of Lombardy, a Fellow and member of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology Society of Europe (CIRSE), and a member of the European Society of Emergency Radiology.
