Dr. Siamak Farhad has been a Mechanical Engineering professor at The University of Akron since 2013. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo (Canada) and worked as a visiting researcher at the National Research Council (NRC) Canada during his doctoral studies. With experience in the "Applied Nano-materials & Clean Energy Lab" at the University of Waterloo, he contributed to the GM Electric Vehicle project in 2012 and 2013. Dr. Farhad has authored 100+ research articles, received several awards, and secured external grants from organizations such as NSF, State of Ohio, DOD, and industry. Currently, he serves as the interim director of the Timken Foundation Center for Precision Manufacturing and as co-director of the Manufacturing Graduate Certificate Program. Dr. Farhad has a combined work experience of over 17 years in academia, industry, and in research centers.
