Dr Ioannis Vardiambasis is an Associate Professor of Satellite and Microwave Communications at the Department of Electronic Engineering of the Hellenic Mediterranean University, serving as the Director of the Division of Telecommunications and Networks, Director of the TelEMA Laboratory, and Director of the Master’s program in Telecommunication and Automation Systems. He also served in several administrative positions as Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences (09/2018-05/2019), Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences (09/2014-08/2018), and Head of the Department of Electronic Engineering (07/2012-08/2018). He received a Diploma of Electrical Engineering and a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece, in 1991 and 1996, respectively. He has supervised or is currently supervising 8 PhD, 12 MSc, and more than 250 diploma theses. He is a reviewer for several scientific journals, and has also been a member of organizing and/or scientific committees of more than 30 international conferences. His fields of interest include electric, magnetic and electromagnetic field measurements, antennas, microwave/millimeter-wave technology /applications, bio-electromagnetics, radiometry, analytical and computational methods/techniques, electromagnetic wave propagation, radiation and scattering from isotropic/anisotropic media structures, wireless communications, and smart antennas and devices.
