Dr. Abdi Mohammed is a professionally Plant Pathologist, working as a researcher and lecturer in the School of Plant Sciences, Haramaya University, Ethiopia, since 2018. He is working in the areas of Mycotoxins, genetic diversity of Aspergillus species, associated to agricultural crops like peanut, maize, sorghum and wheat. Furthermore, Dr. Abdi is working on areas of mycotoxin health risk assessment and analysis in major food crops, malnutrition, and mycotoxin impacts on the vulnerable community. Presently, Dr. Abdi is implementing several projects in collaboration with regional and international partners, including a team from Cranfield University, UK, NutriNut projects funded by innovate UK, and University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences (BOKU), Vienna, Austria, P004_Ethiopia project funded by the Africa Uninet OeAD program of the Austrian government, Ghent University, MYTOX-SOUTH and many more.
As a lecturer, Dr. Abdi is teaching courses like, Eco-and Food toxicology, post-harvest management and technology, for post-graduate students; Nutrition Sensitive Agriculture, BSc students and Agricultural Toxicology for veterinary students.
Further, Dr. Abdi is a director for Seed Inspection and Certification, Center at Haramaya University.
