Dr. Kehui (Kevin) Xu is a professor in the Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences and the Director of the Coastal Studies Institute at Louisiana State University. He received his Bachelor's degree in geology and computer applications and a Master's degree in geological oceanography from the Ocean University of China in 1999 and 2002, respectively, and his doctorate in marine science from the College of William and Mary in 2006. Dr. Kehui Xu has been the Associate Editor of Estuarine, Coastal, and Shelf Sciences since 2015 and the Community Surface Dynamics Modeling System (CSDMS) Chair for Education and Knowledge Transfer since 2020. He has received many awards, including the James P. Morgan Distinguished Professor Award at Louisiana State University, the Louisiana State University Alumni Association Faculty Excellence Award, and the Louisiana State University Alumni Association Emerging Faculty Research Award. Dr. Kehui Xu's research focuses on the flow and fate of river sediments from land to sea.
