Prof. Dr. Xavi Masip-Bruin

Xavi Masip-Bruin is a Full Professor of computer science at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain, and Director of the CRAAX Lab. His research focuses on cloud, fog and edge computing, IoT, ITS, e-health, and novel management paradigms. Xavi obtained a MSc and a Ph.D. degree in telecommunications engineering, both from the Technical University of Catalonia. He has given several invited talks. Xavi has been a member of the organizing team of many national and international conferences, serving as general chair for some of them, and also serving as an editor for the Optical Switching and Networking (OSN)  and the Computer Communications journals. He has participated and led many National and EU funded projects (FP6, FP7, H2020, and HE), as well as contracts with the industry (Cisco, IBM, and Huawei). His contributions were recognized with a 2016 IBM Faculty Award.
