Professor in bioengineering at the Department of Industrial Engineering and head of BIOtech Research Center, University of Trento-Italy, visiting professor at CTERM, Medical School, National University of Malaysia since 2020 and associate director of Bioactive Resources for Innovative Clinical Applications Research Unit (BRICAR), Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand since 2014. Her research topics, developed with prestigious national and international groups (academia and industries), include biopolymer-based scaffold design for regenerative medicine applications, instructive scaffold design, precision biomaterial design and biocompatibility evaluations. She is also responsible for Master and PhD courses on bioengineering and TERM topics. She is currently the PI of two EU-RISE-MSCA projects (REMIX and SHIFT) on the development of new products for tissue engineering based on natural resources. She is a panel member of ERC consolidator grant evaluation committee LS7, member of an evaluation panel of international agencies and industrial projects, editor-in-chief of the Journal of Biomaterials Science PE, member of the Scientific Ed. Board of Intern. Journals and visiting professor at many universities. She is the coeditor of three books on tissue engineering and has published 170 international journals, 14 book chapters and 8 international patents. She is a plenary lecturer, invited speaker and keynote speaker at many international and national conferences and schools.
