Prof. Baolong Bao

Short Biography

Prof. Baolong Bao earned an MSc in aquaculture from Shanghai Fisheries University (1996) and a PhD in genetics from Fudan University (2006). From 2007 to 2009, he worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He is currently a professor and doctoral supervisor at Shanghai Ocean University, mainly responsible for undergraduate courses such as ichthyology and ichthyology experiments and master's courses such as molecular developmental biology. At the same time, he is also the vice president of the Chinese Society of Fish, a member of the Aquatic Biotechnology and Genetic Breeding Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Fisheries, and a member of the Marine Resources Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Natural Resources. His research areas include fish development and evolutionary biology, as well as fish and bacterial co-evolution.
