Suren Kharatyan got his BSc degree in chemistry at the Yerevan State University in 1971. 1971-1975 he was a PhD student at the Institute of Chemical Physics NAS RA. Prof. Dr. Suren Kharatyan since 1982 is a head of Laboratory of Kinetics of SHS Processes at the Institute of Chemical Physics NAS RA. In 2002-2007 he was a Head of Department of Chemical Physics at the Yerevan State University. Further, he became a recognized professor of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, then also of the Department of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry, YSU. In 2009 Prof. S. Kharatyan was awarded to President Prize of Armenia for outstanding achievements in combustion chemistry and ceramic science. He has supervised 15 PhD and more than 30 MSc students and is an author and co-author of over 300 scientific publications, reviews, monographs. Prof. Kharatyan is Corr. member of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia, as well as Member of European Electron Microscopy Society.
