https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Lidija-Matija Lidija Matija is a professor at the University of Belgrade Faculty of Mechanical Engineering where she received her PhD in 1997. She has been working in the Institute for Chemical Power Sources, Belgrade, Serbia, in the field of fullerenes-based materials, their production, and application for battery production. In 2005, professor Lidija Matija moved to the University of Belgrade Faculty of Mechanical Engineering where she joined the group for Biomedical Engineering and became the Chair of Nano Laboratory. In the period from 2008 to 2010, she was appointed as Seconded National Expert (SNE) in the European Commission, DG RTD, Marie Curie Networks, FP7 Framework Programme, Brussels, where she worked as a scientific officer. She is a founder of the Department for Biomedical Engineering at the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. At the University of Belgrade, Professor Lidija Matija teaches Nanotechnology and Introduction to nano-systems. Acknowledged as an inventor in nanotechnology, she was awarded the Nikola Tesla Gold Medal. She works as an independent evaluator for the EC, where she served as Chair for the Physics Panel for 5 years and, currently, she is Vice-Chair for Physics Panel. She is also the author of one book and co-author of two more books. She published 32 papers with impact factors. Professor Matija is a member of many scientific societies.
