Prof. Dr. Luigi De Bellis is a full professor at the Department of Biological and Environmental Sciences and Technologies, University of Salento, Lecce, Italy. He received his Ph.D. degree in Horticulture from the University of Pisa in 1986. His research activity focuses on crop physiology/genetic characterization of cereals/olive trees, plant-pathogen interaction, and the study of the nutraceutical properties of secondary metabolites present in plants. He served as director of the University Department and as a board member of the CMCC (Euro-Mediterranean Center on Climate Change) in Lecce, Italy. He is also a reviewer of many journals and editor in chief of Horticulturae.
