Dr. Eleftherios Karapatzak is an agronomist with an MSc in horticulture and a PhD in plant physiology and reproduction, specializing in fruit crop physiology and reproduction, with supplementary training in biometrics and quantitative methods in agriculture and experimental biology. He has worked on research projects as an external research associate at the Institute of Plant Breeding and Genetic Resources, Hellenic Agricultural Organization Dimitra, Thessaloniki, Greece (IPBGR, HAO Dimitra). He is an early-career researcher with a developing publication record on the eco-physiology, reproduction, and ecology of a range of plant species (small fruit crops, soft fruits, and native species). He has more than 10 years of academic and teaching experience in Plant Morphology, Plant Physiology and Viticulture at undergraduate level at the International Hellenic University (IHU), Greece, as well as student tutoring and supervision for a variety of dissertation projects. Additionally, he has extensive industry experience and a developing track record of contributions to national and international scientific conferences. His current research interests are centered on the study of native plants domestication for sustainable utilization, plant–environment interactions that influence crop plant growth, reproduction, and secondary metabolism in terms of crop quality under climate change.
