Maria Antonietta Panaro graduated from the University of Bari and received her Ph.D. in Human and Experimental Morphology. She is now a Full Professor at the Department of Biosciences, Biotechnologies and Environment, University of Bari. Her research interests include Granulocytes and Macrophages, DNA repair, Embryonal Cardiotoxicity of the Helicobacter pylori Lipopolysaccharide (LPS), Study of mediators of the inflammatory processes involved in neurodegeneration both in vivo experimental models, represented by mice treated with MPTP, and in vitro cultures of neurons and glial cells, Polyphenols, Study of the evolution of devices related cellular receptor for the understanding of pathogenetic transduction mechanisms operating in mammals and man, and Study of newly synthesized molecules for anti-inflammatory and anti-tumor.
