Jan Nedoma (Senior Member, IEEE) is currently an Associate Professor and the Head of the Optoelectronics Laboratory in the Department of Telecommunications, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Technical University of Ostrava. He is also a member of the scientific council; a member of doctoral, habilitation, and professors’ committees; and a guarantor of bachelor’s study programs at the mentioned faculty. During his scientific career, he has been the leader or a coinvestigator of more than 25 projects and has published more than 175 journal articles and conference papers in his research areas. He holds ten valid Czech patents. His research interests include optical communications and optical atmospheric communications, optoelectronics, optical measurements, measurements in telecommunication technology, signal processing, fiber optic sensors, and biomedical engineering.
