Patrick Obermeier is a physician-scientist based in Berlin, Germany. He completed his medical education at the Charité University Medical Center in Berlin, Germany and obtained his PhD in medicine, microbiology, and infectious diseases from the Université Bourgogne-Franche-Comté in Besançon, France. Dr. Obermeier has received his residency training in dermatology and venereology. His research focuses on precision medicine in infectious disease surveillance, research, and patient care. Dr. Obermeier has been a member of the Vaccine Safety Initiative (VIVI) since 2011 and became vice-chair of this international non-profit research organization in 2022. He is a Volunteer Reviewer for MDPI Journals, including Microorganisms, Viruses, and Vaccines. Memberships include the American Society for Microbiology (ASM), European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID), German Society for Virology (GfV), and the International Society of Dermatology in the Tropics (ISDT).
