Information

Chunyan Li, PhD, an associate professor at Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell Health, NY, obtained her PhD in 2007 from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, USA. She is an experienced biomedical engineer with extensive experience in animal-based brain trauma research, including traumatic brain injury (TBI), stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage. Her current research includes application of novel bioelectronic therapies as an early-stage treatment for severe and common brain disorders in which ischemia is an important “secondary insult”—specifically traumatic brain injury and subarachnoid hemorrhage. Her previous research has focused on development of advanced interfaces for brain by using micro/nano-technologies for multimodality neuromonitoring. She is a member of the National Neurotrauma Society, Society for Neuroscience, and Biomedical Engineering Society.
